                                           French Fridays
           Friday 5, 12 February & 19 February 2010 : 7.30pm, Inner Parry Room
Following on from the great success of last year’s series Haydn, Mendelssohn and Beyond, this fascinating series once
again places chamber works by two greats of the past with new works by RCM student composers (Tom Peterson,
Piers Tattersall & Solfa Carlile). This time the focus moves to France, and to the close contemporaries César Franck
and Camille Saint-Saëns. You can hear their most famous and attractive chamber works, and enjoy a glass of French
wine while hearing more about their lives and work from Professor Paul Banks, who has put the series
together. To find out more visit www.rcm.ac.uk/events or pick up an Events Guide from the RCM box office.

masters who set out to give some of the less glamorous instruments a chance to shine and offer a welcome
chance for some of the RCM’s very best performers to step into the limelight.
