Robert Dean Williams is Vice‐President Environmental Affairs for Kinross Gold Corporation, the third largest primary gold producer in North America by reserves, with gold mines in the United States, Brazil, and Chile. With a M.Sc. in Natural Resource Planning from Colorado State University, early career assignments included Senior Environmental Engineer and Environmental Manager, with BHP‐Utah International (1978‐88) and Associate and Environmental Restoration Manager, with LSA Associates, Inc. (1989‐93), a diversified environmental, transportation and community planning firm designed to provide environmental evaluation as a result of the passage of the California Environmental Quality Act. He subsequently worked as Corporate Manager, Compliance Assurance, for Homestake Mining Corporation (1993‐2002), which merged with Barrick Gold Corporation in 2001. He was Environmental Director and Director, Environmental, Health and Safety Assurance, with Barrick Gold Corporation (2002‐08), before he joined Kincross Gold Corporation.
