                                                                                       Statisticians are a breed apart. Most people are not interested in what they do and
                                                                                       journalists often do not understand them. Statisticians, in turn, accuse journalists of
                                                                                       chasing “the quote-sensation”, said Ben Paul Mungyereza from the Uganda Bureau of
                                                                                       Statistics, who presented a paper entitled: “Making Statistics Attractive Through
                                                                                       Partnership with the Media“. Mungyereza was one of the speakers at an Invited Paper
                                                                                       Meeting held on Tuesday at ISI 2009. He said: “People who are not statisticians find
                                                                                       statistics less attractive and the media has a problem understanding us.”

Which questions needed to be answered and how these answers would be
