Summary of Minutes of Regular Board Meeting, March 19, 2007 The Board of Trustees of the Jasper Independent School District met Monday, March 19, 2007, in the Boardroom at the Administration Building, 128 Park Street, Jasper, Texas. In accordance with the Texas Government Code, Section 551. The regular session began at 6:30 p.m. with the following members present: Eddie Hopkins Brenda Job Joe J. The meeting was called to order by President Eddie Hopkins and the presence of a quorum was established. Dalton Bennett and Rashad Fillyaw led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance and LaVarris Carter led the audience in Prayer. Dr. Jim Hamilton made a motion and James Riley a second to approve the following consent items: Minutes of Regular Board Meeting, February 12, 2007 Minutes of Special Board Meeting, March 5, 2007 Budget Amendments Tax Collection Report – January 2007 Extended Sick Leave: Jennifer Herrington – Counselor at Jasper High School Textbook Adoptions for 2007-2008 School Year Motion carried with a unanimous vote. Larry Mathews made a motion and James Riley a second to adjourn to closed session. A motion was made by Carolyn Armitage and seconded by James Riley to return to open session. A motion was made by Dr. Jim Hamilton and seconded by Joe J. Breckenridge to approve denying the Level III parent/student discipline complaint. Motion carried with a unanimous vote. Larry Mathews made a motion and Joe J. Breckenridge a second to approve one (1) year contract renewals for the following administrators with the exception of Ms. Vanessa Phillips, Mr. Mervin Cleveland, and Dr. Dean Miller who presently hold contracts through the 2007-2008 school year.

Motion carried with a unanimous vote. Carolyn Armitage made a motion and James Riley a second to approve one (1) year contract renewal for the following personnel: • Phil Brown (1/2 time) • Dal Coleman (1/2 time) • Tas McGraw (1/2 time) • Luanne Talbot (226 days) Motion carried with a unanimous vote. A motion was made by Dr. Jim Hamilton and seconded by Carolyn Armitage to approve the renewal of one (1) year contracts for the attached list of personnel. Motion carried with a unanimous vote. James Riley made a motion and Larry Mathews a second to approve nonrenewal of probationary contracts for Angela Curry and Rachel Rawls for the 2007-2008 school year. Motion carried with a unanimous vote. A motion was made by Carolyn Armitage and seconded by Joe J. A motion was made by James Riley and seconded by Larry Mathews to approve the appointment of Julie Dickerson as Election Administrator and Bobby South, Vina Ellis, Barbara Barnett and Marilyn Boone as election judges for the school trustees election ordered for May 12, 2007. It is also recommended that the Election Administrator be allowed to employ the maximum of twelve (12) clerks for conducting the election. Motion carried with a unanimous vote. Larry Mathews made a motion and James Riley a second to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried with a unanimous vote.
