Article Marketing - Competing With Article Directory Ads

Do you article market? If you do, you are well aware that article directories are brutal with their ad placement. The
next time you are submitting article to your favorite article directories take a close look at their ad placement
strategy and make note the of strategic placement of the ads as a means of stealing click away from the article
using Adsense blocks, text link and banners.

With all of the articles and posts that I have published on article directories, sometimes when I look at them I think
to myself...it is a wonder that my resource links get any clicks at all. Some directories have literally over a hundred
links competing with yours for clicks. However, there are two secret weapons that you can use that drives the
reader to your link over the sea of others. They are your writing style in combination with an extremely strong call to
action in the article that directs the readers attention to the resource box.

Writing style is important because it gives you the opportunity to build anticipation in the mind of your reader. It is
well known that in internet marketing, making money largely revolves around the providing of a solution to some
problem that is common in human society. In the article of course, the author would acknowledge the problem and
relate to the reader in a very sympathetic fashion. Additionally, a solution or potential solution to the problem would
be referenced in the article itself. It is at this point that a strong call to action would be made in the last sentence of
the last paragraph in the article that directly refers the reader to the "Author's Resource Box". This strong call to
action will send the reader looking for the author's resource box skipping all of the ads in between.

As long as you limit this self-promotional call to the resource box to the last sentence of the last paragraph, you can
get away with it. Then in the actual resource box itself you will have to make a similarly strong call to action to the
link in the box itself. The link must be obvious, the most common of which is a capitalized "CLICK HERE" link.

This methodology will help drive readers through the barrage of ads placed throughout your article by the directory
owner and ultimately to the link that you placed in the article resource box as a means to drive readers to your offer
or website.
