North Kingstown Schools- Administrative Compensation
For many years the North Kingstown Taxpayer's Organization has maintained that the School Departmrnt should reduce administartive expenses rather that reducing educational programs when balancing their budget. This year the NKTO submitted a 20 point report of potential budget reductions of $1.7 million. Unfortunately the suggestions were mostly not incorporated into the rapidly assembled and controversially approved budget. In his reign, Dr. Halley incorporated large salary increases for the Principals with an inclusion of summertime responsibilities. This action could easily have been reversed but was not. So what does the Administration of our Schoot Department cost? Here are the numbers, compiled from many years of budgets. The National average Pricipal's Salary is $73,536 and a salary of $104,406 is the 90th percentile nationally.
