                                                                       Savcor to strengthen an existing brick
                                                                       bridge pier to meet current earthquake
                                                                       standards and increased collision loads.
                                                                       Savcor provided a complete package of design, supply,
                                                                       and installation of a fibre reinforcement polymer (FRP)
                                                                       strengthening system.

                                                                       The design required two layers of specifically designed
                                                                       FRP to be applied to the prepared brick pier surface.

                                                                       works within the specified program without disruption
                                                                       to road or rail traffic.



                                                                        Special points of interest:
                                                                        •     The existing brick pier was strengthened to resist
                                                                              current earthquake and increased collision loads.
                                                                        •     All works were completed without the disruption of
                                                                              train or traffic flow.
