A fun time was had by all!
O n Feb. 24, the Y held an Open

came through our doors and visited the
various kiosks and information tables.
Chef Hervé prepared healthy snacks
and handed out recipes while dieti-

eating tips. Visitors tried out different
fitness classes, learned about all the
pool activities, and had their body fat
measured and blood pressure taken. It
was a great day, with lots of smiles all

Kinatex & Ben Weider JCC:A good match

T he physiotherapy clinic at the Ben Weider JCC, formerly

located on the main floor next to the Reinitz wrestling centre,
we are committed to the delivery of quality rehabilitation ser-
vices to “Y” members and the community at large in a caring
and professional environment.
Our clients range from couch potato to elite athlete. Often,
people think physiotherapy is for people who have had a trau-
matic sports injury, or for orthopaedic post-operative care. In
reality, it is not a single event that leads to a problem. Typi-
cally, it is a gradual onset of symptoms that develop over time.
Pain and stiffness can become chronic and interfere with ev-
eryday activities. Our goal is to address the underlying cause
of the problem in order to maximize recovery and minimize
risk of recurrence.
I have heard many of our clients say, “I tried physio before
and it didn’t help.” Unfortunately, these people have received

is occurring and address as many contributing factors as pos- Kinatex owner, Anna Frankel, works with a client.

“YCC gave me all my summers, and I keep going back,” says
Stu. “I want to help out any way I can and I think the fashion
show is a great way to do it - and it’s fun. In the end it’s for a
very rewarding cause and well-worth all the effort.”
The YCC-Camp Koby Connection honours the memory of
Koby Mandell, a young Israeli boy who was tragically killed
seven years ago by terrorists. Proceeds raised at the fashion
show go to support Camp Koby in Israel, for Israeli children
who have been victimized by terrorism, and the IVOW Pro-
gram (for Israeli campers at YCC).
This year, however, there is a new vision on the YCC horizon:
the Koby Mandell Centre for Jewish Programming to be
built up at camp.
So come to the show. Everyone is welcome. According to Stu,
it’s going to be better than ever.
“This year we tried to do it a little different,” he says, explain-
ing that the music will reflect different decades from the past:
50s, 60s, 70s, Motown tunes and disco.
