The group of 2008 Matrics who also attended the Prep School at their Induction Dinner School closes on Friday 28th November with Final Assembly being at 14h30. 2009 reopens on Monday 19th January and a newsletter will be going out within the first two weeks confirming dates and cricket fixtures! Warren is an agricultural farm planner / consultant and his wife lectures at the University in Horticulture. They were blessed with a son on the 25th March 2008 - Alexander. Alexander van Niekerk MARRIAGES Rosalind May Cox (2002) married Jan Andre Gertenbach on Saturday 18th Oct 2008. Brian and Bronwyn are off to Australia to test the waters! email@example.com IN MEMORIAM It is with great sadness that we must report on the departure of: Lloyd Kannemeyer (1981) earlier this year. He died in Cape Town and is buried in Port Elizabeth. Graham “Old Man” Mills (1972) passed away last Thursday 20th November at the age of 55. Graham was one of the pioneers of the College and a real character! We extend our sincerest condolences to the friends and family. May they continue to live in our memory. REUNION WEEK The weekend will no longer be called the REUNION WEEKEND but FOUNDERS WEEKEND. The second weekend of July will be booked for the FOUNDERS WEEKEND in the years to come. MATRIC INDUCTION DINNER This was held on Thursday 23rd October. Photographed here are pupils who started in Grade 1 at the Prep School and finished in Matric! Quite an achievement. With them are headmasters, Craig Neave of the College and Alan Campbell of the Prep. PREMIER DRAW The first draw of the new format at the beginning of this month was well-attended. It must have been very gratifying for Greg Gilbert as one of the big supporters of the idea to finally see some return from his huge contribution every draw! The venue was Primi Piatti, Cavendish Square and the downstairs section was closed off. Great vibe, good pizza and great company lead to a superb and well attended evening. To those of you who said you were attending and didn’t - you lost out! It was sad, however, that a number of people, who indicated that they would attend, did not arrive. Shame on you! Cape Town Crowd STELLENBOSCH TRIP Even though some of the students were still writing there was a good turnout, considering some had gone home already. Thanks to Arno Zacharias for providing the venue, The Mill Coffee House and for organising the snacks. Great to see this wonderful bunch!!! Chris is Regional Manger of Africa and Middle East and we wish them well with their move. firstname.lastname@example.org Michael Noakes – then and now A walk down memory lane - Michael Noakes (1954) visited Woodridge 54 years later and spent a wonderful morning reminiscing about the things he could remember about Woodridge. He remembers being put on a train in Rhodesia and spending a couple of days on the tracks until he arrived in PE! His son Simon won the South African Motorcross Championship for 2008 - the class was 50cc / 5-9 years olds and his twin brother, Brett came 3rd in the same class.
