Level 2 NVQ in Sport, Recreational and Allied Occupations:

Length of Course
One year, comprising three whole days plus two half days a
week for 24 weeks, followed by 14 weeks of work experience.
Entry Requirements
Minimum four GCSEs at Grade E, including English. Enthusiasm
and a reasonable level of experience in a range of outdoor
pursuits. A proven commitment to working with young people.
The ability to work independently and as part of a group. Either
BCU 2 Star or RYA Level 2 dinghy sailing. Must be 18 years old
by 1 April 2012.
Ideal for those who are serious about starting a career in
outdoor adventure. This course also offers a constructive
option for students taking a year out before entering Higher
Education. Relatively little time is spent in the classroom and
the emphasis is on practical work to develop leadership skills,
organisational abilities and land and water-based activities.
From Easter the course continues in the work place at an
outdoor adventure centre, in the UK or France, where you
will be employed on the same conditions as other staff whilst
gaining an invaluable season leading outdoor adventure.

The Army Preparation Course (APC) is designed to teach
students the necessary skills to pass at the Army Development
and Selection Centre (ADSC). The course achieves this through
many different and engaging activities such as teambuilding,
military skills, fitness training and outdoor adventure pursuits.
