ROLL-OFF
The Junior Interstate President’s Shield Competition is the biggest annual junior
5 bowler Team Event in Australia.
10 Teams representing all States, Territories and Zones across Australia
compete against each other to be the Champion Team.
The 14 members of the Southern NSW Team will be determined in two different
Centres and on two different conditions by a Roll-Off over 20 games.
At the conclusion of match play on day two, the 5 highest placed (based on
pinfall), boys and girls in the event, along with a further 2 boys and 2 girls that
will be selected from all nominations will be announced as the 2008 SNSW
President’s Junior Interstate Shield Team.
The 38th Australian Junior National Championships, incorporating the
President’s Shield, will be held in April next year, location to be confirmed.

Eligibility
1. Must not have reached eighteen (18) on the 1st January in the year of President’s
Junior Interstate Shield Competition.
2. Must supply a copy of bowler’s Birth Certificate with the nomination form.
3. Must be a current financial member of a Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA) licensed
association or registered bowling centre in Southern NSW Zone. TBA Registered
Player cards, or proof of purchase, must be shown at check-in on day one.
4. Must reside in NSW and south of a line drawn through the middle of Broken Bay,
Hawkesbury River to Colo River, Capertree River to the south of Lake Windamere and
from there directly due west.
5. Must have competed in at least eight weeks of league competition and bowled a
minimum of 24 games in a TBA Accredited League in Southern NSW Zone, during the
current year. League games completed post or pre bowl do not count towards the
number of games bowled.
6. Must reside in Southern NSW Zone for a period of time that enables participation in the
Roll-Off and if successful in making the Team must continue league play in an
accredited league. Requests for exemption to this rule must be in writing to the TBA
(refer TBA eligibility criteria).
7. Be capable of conduct that does not adversely affect TBA or the State of NSW.
Conditions
1. No nominations will be accepted unless the form is:
• Signed by the League Secretary
• Signed by the bowler and their parent/guardian.
2. All parents/legal guardians agree by signing the Nomination Form that they accept the
following rules and conditions should their child become a member of the Southern
NSW Team.
• Pay the initial fee of $500 (non-refundable) to the Secretary of the Southern
NSW Junior Tenpin Bowling Committee (Committee) on a due date as finalised
on the last day of Roll-Off.
• Pay all other monies in excess of the $500 in full, by the date nominated by the
Committee, arrangements can be made with the Committee to pay expenses by
instalments by the due date. The total monies owed are divided by the 14 team
players.
• Abide by all rules and any instructions given by the Committee and its delegated
officials at any function, Tournament or training session.
3. The parent/legal guardian will ensure that the bowler will:
• Attend and be punctual at all official training sessions as designated by the
Coaches. A training schedule will be implemented with the coaches and
comprise of compulsory training sessions and tournaments.
• Attend all uniform fitting sessions and wear the official training/team uniform
when directed.
• Travel with the Team as requested by the Team management.
• Assist in any fundraising or activities set by the Committee.

General Rules
• All TBA rules and regulations will apply including TBA Code of Ethics
• Any bowler failing to complete any stage of the Roll-Off will not be entitled to a refund
of any monies paid, and will be considered as withdrawing from the event. Bowlers
withdrawing due to injury or illness will remain eligible for selection.
• Bowlers must wear neat, acceptable bowling attire, collared shirt, dress pants for boys
and dress shorts/pants or skirts for girls. No caps, half/three quarter length pants,
jeans, cargo pants or sport style tops will be acceptable.
• Smoking is prohibited during a series or session of continuous games in any
competition accredited by TBA or any organisation, Committee or Bowling Centre
recognised by TBA.
• Applications for exemption to any rules, or eligibility criteria, are to be in writing to the
Secretary, Southern NSW Junior Committee, and post marked no later than Friday
20th July, 2007.
Format
• Qualifying will be held in two divisions, Boys and Girls. A total of twenty (20) games will
be bowled over two days, in two different centres and on two different oil patterns.
• Check-in: 8.30 am Saturday 28th AMF Illawarra Strikezone, Albion Park

Check-in: 8.30 am Sunday 29th Nu-Vision Bowl, Chester Hill
Start: 9.00 am
• At the completion of twenty games the 5 highest placed (based on pinfall), boys and
girls in the event, along with a further 2 boys and 2 girls that will be selected from all
nominations will be announced as the 2008 SNSW President’s Junior Interstate Shield
Team.
• Ties for 5th place in either division will be resolved by a one game play off. Should a tie
still exist, a 9th and 10th frame will be played until the tie is broken.
Nominations
• A nomination fee of $20.00 (non-refundable) must accompany all entries.
• All entries and nomination fees must be post marked no later than Wednesday 25th
July, 2007. No entries after this date will be accepted.
• A $150.00 entry fee applies and must be lodged with the Secretary before
commencement of play.
• Cheques/money orders should be made payable to: Southern NSW Junior Tenpin
Bowling Committee.
