 Minors on Premises                                           Minors providing entertainment
 All Licences (Except Entertainment Venue Licences)           Minors providing entertainment are exempt from
                                                              Section 112(1) of the Liquor Licensing Act 1997 and
 Section 112(1) of the Liquor Licensing Act 1997
                                                              are allowed on the licensed premises (except any
 prohibits a minor from entering or remaining in
                                                              gaming areas) if they are:
 licensed premises between the hours of midnight
 and 5 am, unless in:                                         •    at least 16 years of age
 •   a dining room                                            •    engaged in providing entertainment that does
                                                                   not involve nudity, partial nudity or wearing
 •   a bedroom
                                                                   transparent clothing.
 •   a part of the licensed premises approved by
     the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner as an

     room.                                                    Under Section 113 of the Liquor Licensing Act 1997,
                                                              a sign must be prominently displayed in all areas of
                                                              the licensed premises where minors are permitted.
 Entertainment Venue Licence
 Section 112(1) of the Act prohibits a minor from
 entering or remaining in premises with an
 entertainment venue licence between the hours of
 9 pm on one day and 5 am of the next unless in:
 •   a part of the licensed premises approved by
     the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner as an
     area where minors are permitted.


 Gaming area
 Section 56 of the Gaming Machines Act 1992
 prohibits a minor from being in a gaming area or             If an Extended Trading Authorisation is granted,
 operating a gaming machine.                                  under Section 112 of the Act a sign must be
                                                              prominently displayed at all entry points to the
                                                              licensed premises, except dining rooms.
 Employment of minors
 Section 107(1) of the Liquor Licensing Act prohibits
 minors from being employed to sell, supply or serve
 liquor in licensed premises unless he or she is 16
 years and older and:
 •   a child of the licensee or responsible person
     and resident on the licensed premises
 •   a child of the licensee or responsible person not
     a resident on the licensed premises who is
     approved by the Liquor and Gambling
     Commissioner.
 Section 55 of the Gaming Machines Act 1992
 prohibits minors from being employed in any
 capacity in connection with the conduct of
 gaming operations on licensed premises.

 Minors are not allowed in an area designated as
 out of bounds to minors. For an area to be
 declared out of bounds, the licensee must apply to
 the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner to
 designate the area out of bounds to minors. Under
 Section 111 of the Act a sign must be prominently
 displayed at all entry points to the designated area.




 Displaying Signs (Gaming Machines Act 1992)
 Minors are not permitted in designated gaming
 areas. A Notice of Warning to Minors sign must be
 prominently displayed at all entry points to the
 gaming areas.
