Ontario agricultural pork and beef producers recognize that a
high profile and targeted event which offers opportunities for
constructive dialogue can lead to the development of both
effective long-term policies, and immediate short-term
solutions to current challenges.

The Town Hall Meeting is designed to encourage an easy
dialogue. It will provide a welcome opportunity for agricultural
and pork /beef industry leaders, federal and provincial
politicians, and farmers to generate new ideas and strengthen
existing relationships.

We are inviting local, regional and provincial media to attend
and cover the farmers’ stories that have been the catalyst to the
creation of this event. The Town Hall Meeting details can be
found on the website created to complement the event:
www.farmersmatter.ca. We are also inviting CPAC and
Stratford’s local cable station to televise this unique
agricultural exchange.

Your sponsorship of this landmark opportunity will be
supported by a strategic media campaign that will strengthen
provincial awareness of the importance to building a
sustainable pork and beef agricultural industry in Ontario.

We are asking for your support to underwrite expenses to
stage this much-needed event that can help determine the
future of farming for Ontario’s dedicated and hard-
working farm families.

Farmers Matter was created in July 2010 as a platform through which Perth County beef and
pork producers could voice their concerns and ideas for policy change that will support the
sustainability of Ontario’s beef and pork sectors, as well as offer solutions to short-term risks
currently affecting their respective industries. Furthermore, they are looking to develop
symbiotic relationships with the consumers who purchase their products by ensuring a safe,
affordable and consistent supply of Ontario grown beef and pork.
