					GUIDELINES TO ENTER FORT MCPHERSON AND FORT GILLEM THROUGH THE
ACCESS CONTROL POINT

Changes to the following forms of identification take effect at Fort McPherson
and Fort Gillem access control points (gates):
- GSA badges – State-issued GSA badges will no longer be accepted as a form of ID.
- Fort McPherson and Fort Gillem MACOM-issued badges – These badges will only be
accepted as a form of ID when the individual is in a DoD-decaled vehicle and with a
valid, photo-bearing state drivers license.
- Valid photo-bearing state drivers license – Individuals using a driver's license as ID
must meet one of the following additional criteria:
        - Be on a pre-approved access roster.
        - Possess a valid Vehicle Registration Office-issued long-term pass, pre-
approved VIP pass or Fort McPherson or Fort Gillem MACOM ID.
        - Be escorted or cleared by a sponsor.
- United States passports – Individuals using a U.S. passport must meet one of
the following additional criteria:
        - Be on a pre-approved access roster.
        - Possess a valid Vehicle Registration Office-issued long-term pass, pre-
approved VIP pass or Fort McPherson or Fort Gillem MACOM ID.
        - Be escorted or cleared by a sponsor.
- Foreign passport – Foreign country passports are not an authorized form of photo ID
unless the visit has been approved by the U.S. Army Garrison (USAG) Directorate of
Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security's Security Office and the USAG Directorate of
Emergency Services' Operations Section staffs, and the individual is escorted by a CAC
cardholder.
- Department of Veteran Affairs ID Card – Individuals using a VA ID card must
meet one of the following additional criteria:
        - Be on a pre-approved access roster.
        - Possess a valid Vehicle Registration Office-issued long-term pass, pre-
approved VIP pass or Fort McPherson or Fort Gillem MACOM ID.
        - Be escorted or cleared by a sponsor.

There are no changes to the following acceptable forms of ID that can be used to
gain access to Fort McPherson or Fort Gillem. Vehicles must comply with
decal/pass requirements:
- Active duty military – DoD Common Access Card (CAC)
- Retired military – DD Form 2 (United States Uniformed Services Identification Card
(Retired))
- Military dependent – DD Form 1172 (Application for Uniformed Services ID Card -
DEERS Enrollment)
- Reserve Component – DD Form 2 (Armed Services of the United States Geneva
Conventions Identification Card (Reserve))
- DA/DoD Civilian – DA/DoD CAC
- Army and Air Force Exchange Service employee – DD Form 2574 (Armed Forces
Exchange Service Identification and Privilege Card)
- Nonappropriated fund employee – DD Form 1172-2 (Application for Department of
Defense Common Access Card - DEERS Enrollment)
- Contractor - DD Form 2574 (Armed Forces Exchange Services Identification and
Privilege Card) with “C” stamp
- Federal Emergency Management Agency badge
