E.H.R Transition Volunteer Contract, July 26th 2010 – Sept 15th, 2010 (12 - 20 hours/week) Flexible Weekdays/Weekends (Short Term, Unpaid Placement) Planned Parenthood of Toronto (PPT) is a community-based, pro-choice agency committed to the principles of equity and to providing accessible and inclusive services which promote healthy sexuality and informed decision making to the people of the City of Toronto. PPT Health Services is in the process of going paper less in accordance with the direction set by Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Ontario. As part of this project, client information is being scanned into our electronic medical records system. PPT has exciting opportunities for anyone seeking experience with Electronic Medical Records and a broader exposure to health industry. We are seeking volunteers to provide administrative support in filing, scanning and archiving client charts for transition to Electronic Health Records (E.H.R.). We are flexible with schedules based on your availability for weekdays, evenings and weekends. This is an excellent opportunity to build your experience, and complete your volunteer hour requirements. Responsibilities: Work with the clinic administrative team and volunteers to file client charts, identify relevant information for scanning, and archive charts. Scan client charts and work with the electronic medical system to import and organize scanned documents. Assist in maintaining administrative systems and activities as directed by the Data Management Coordinator. Perform other duties from time to time as related to the job. Support agency-wide values, goals and objectives. Qualifications: Demonstrated commitment to equity goals, sexual and reproductive rights, pro-choice advocacy and be youth positive, LGBTQ positive and sex positive. Available to work weekdays, either or evenings or week-ends. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Reliable and committed for project term. Must pay attention to detail. Proficiency in working in a computerized environment. Commitment to working cooperatively in a community-based setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team of staff, students and volunteers.
