Name of the Puerto Rican reggaeton singers Juan Luis Morera Luna (Wisin) and
Llandel Veguilla Malav (Yandel), were born respectively in 1978 and 1977 in the
town of Cayey, southern Puerto Rico.

Also known as W & Y, the duo of history and the dynamic duo, are among the most
prominent representatives of reggaeton, a musical subgenre of reggae and dance
descendant of hip hop began to become popular in the late 1990, and whose lyrics
often motivated by their strong polemics racist, violent or overtly sexual.

 In his hometown, working as a hairdresser Wisin, Yandel while studies had been
completed and theatrical interpretation. On issues shared the same musical tastes, and
soon started recording the scene compilations albums in some subjects. In 1998
participated in the album No Fear 3, produced by DJ Dicky; one years later, in the
compilation The Mission, Vol 1, edited by the label Fresh Production. The success of
this compilation (which reached gold disc) has to produce the album Los Reyes del
Nuevo Milenio, first album of Wisin y Yandel.

From that moment the duo landed a success after another. Continue to publish new
issues in successive editions of The Mission and recorded three new albums: From
Old to New (2001), My Life ... My Life (2003) and Otherwise (2004). The three were
gold disc. His musical career still in its infancy was also recognized with the award
for best duo Your Music rap and reggaeton, which was awarded in 2002.

While they were in a sweet moment, there was speculation about a possible separation
of the duo when, in 2004, appeared on Survivor and Wisin Who me? by Yandel, first
solo album. The sales figures were also highlights, but also feared the divorce was
never disclosed in his biography. Wisin y Yandel 2005, as, or more united than before,
presented Pa'l Mundo. Included songs that became popular immediately, and as
Rakata Noche de Sexo. Ultimately, it won another resounding success that the album
was nominated for the Billboard Awards.

  The duo announced that same year the creation of his own label, WY Records, which
published the following year, and Los Vaqueros Los Vaqueros Wild Wild Mixes
(remix of the previous); counted for recording collaborations with prominent figures
of reggaeton. Songs like the phone and I love you were immensely popular. Success
was 2010 Lost Edition, a compilation of previous tracks.

Their significance within the genre is such that the sum of the components of the duo
and the undisputed Don Omar is known as the Bermuda Triangle of Reggaeton. They
have begun to call the aliens, which was also the title of an album with new songs that
launched in 2007. His discography success came in 2008 to join Los Extraterrestres
Reloaded: Another Dimension (in September 2008 had sold ten million copies) and
Wisin & Yandel: La Mente Maestra.
