Dolphins video director survives lightning scare By Alex Marvez and Ed Gray Sun- Sentinel.com Posted August 4 2005, 4:27 PM EDT DAVIE -- Dolphins video director Dave Hack was shaken up Thursday when lightning struck near the tower he was filming practice from at team headquarters. Hack was attended by emergency personnel shortly after the strike, which occurred at approximately 3:40 p.m. Hack was not hospitalized and is said to be fine, according to Dolphins Executive Vice President Bryan Wiedmeier. Practice immediately stopped as players ran inside for cover. The session didn't resume and the field, which is surrounded by lightning rods, was covered with a substantial amount of water after the thunderstorm stopped. Hack has been with the Dolphins for 32 years, spending the past 21 seasons as the team's video director after working the previous 11 as an assistant in the department. Hack holds the distinction of being the only team employee in attendance for all of ex-Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino's 260 career games.
