Left-handed Scissors _ Craft Prepping - Anything Else-
Document Sample

One of the best ways to pass the time with your kids is to do crafts with them. All kids love doing things with art and creating things, as well. On the other hand, not all parents like getting involved with crafts. So why is that? One reason is crafts can cause a lot of messiness. We're all busy, so with some it could be a lack of time. Yet, oddly enough some things could hold people back like needing special kinds of craft equipment like scissors for left handed people. Crafts really are the last thing that deserve to cause stress, or even take up too much of your time. Here are some tips to make your craft time more fun (hint: most of it is in the preparation). You can put a waste basket nearby, and when you're going along with your craft work, just throw the mess/garbage away as you work. If you have to use left-handed scissors and need to cut-out lots of things, then do that and then get rid of all the mess after that. If you need to glue anything, do that and do the same. It's the approach of performing a series of smaller picking-up jobs instead of a very large one at the end. Same goes for in the kitchen, if you clean a little as you prep and cook, then when it's done you're not looking at a destroyed kitchen area. Don't rush the craft. Kids enjoy doing things on their own. Let your children experience the independence you already enjoy when they complete a project on their own. You may feel as if you could complete the project on your own much faster if they would just hand over the left handed scissors. It's more important for them to do take their time and finish the project themselves. It takes longer this way, yes, but your daughter will be so proud of what she made "all by herself"! Tell yourself to back off and be patient. Your level of patience will help you see just how fun the project can be. If your kids have chosen the project never never ask them what it is if you aren't sure when it's done just go with it. When they say "Hey Mom, Look at this! Never try to guess what something is. It's a bad idea to guess that it's a bear. only to have your daughter start crying and say "that's supposed to be Grandpa!" A better approach to finding out what your child has created is to have them tell you about it. This way you avoid hurt feelings and they get to tell you a story. We know, maintaining happiness and peace can be challenging.
