AFI Data Management Plan Template - Annex 19

      More information:
AFI Handbook - Section 17 ‘Data Management and Long-Term Stewardship of Samples’.

Annex 18 - AFI Projects Data Management Plan Information.

These are available on the AFI website at http:www.antarctica.ac.uk/afi.

      Actions:
       - Complete the sheet 'Project_Metadata' using information in sheets 'Guidance'. You can use this
sheet to ask specific questions of the AEDC.

       - Fill in the sheet 'Dataset_Metadata' using the information in sheets 'Guidance', 'More_Info' and using
the example in sheet 'Dataset_Example' to help you (see information below).

       - Then rename this Excel file (e.g. from 'annex19.xls' to 'AFI3_30_metadata.xls').

       - E-mail the Excel file to the AEDC (aedc@bas.ac.uk or AEDC staff member).

       - If you need specimen or data management advice please contact the AEDC, BAS data manager or
the specimen store managers identified in the AFI Handbook.

       - Periodically update your Data Management Plan and resend it to the AEDC.

      Information about the sheets:
Guidance - This gives information about the fields to be completed to make a metadata listing. A dataset
could be a set of samples or specimens, data collected from their analysis, observational data or
      experimental data.

Dataset_Example - This gives an example dataset metadata description.

More_Info - This provides the URLs of the relevant help sections of the Global Change Master Directory
and information about whether information must be chosen from a set of keywords.

      Thank you.
