The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA FY10) has repealed NSPS to deactivate
by 1 Jan 2012. Air Force civilian HR specialist and subject matter experts are hard at
work behind the scenes in preparation of this enterprising DoD event. Ramstein Air
Force civilian employees are asked to increase their knowledge of the GS transition by
visiting the Department of Defense Civilian Personnel Management Service (CPMS).

the three computer based courses that will assist in the transition and preparation of a
smooth transition back to the GS system - GS-101, Classifying Positions under GS: A
Primer for Supervisors, and Performance Management: A Tool to Achieve Results. To
receive credit for the NSPS courses go to AFMC NSPS Transition Community of
Practice (CoP) located at https://afkm.wpafb.af.mil/nsps-gs-trng
<https://afkm.wpafb.af.mil/nsps-gs-trng>. Taking the courses through the
CoP will automatically update employees training records in the Defense
Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS). Employees may also take the courses
online via non-CAC computers and still receive DCPDS credit by using the AF

As the Air Force starts to transition back to the GS system as mandated in the National
Defense Authorizations Act (NDAA) for FY 10 Ramstein Air Force appropriated civilian
employees, managers and supervisors are encouraged increase their knowledge by
visiting the Department of Defense Civilian Personnel Management Service (CPMS)
website. CPMS has developed three computer based courses that will assist in the

Air Force civilians…start the NSPS transition to GS conversation today! Under the
NSPS pay for performance system civilian employees are encourage to provide detailed
information on their performance to their supervisor. This is the time to discuss your
transition to the GS system and request a copy of the GS position description. Use the
NSPS Transition guide as a tool to start that conversation today!
