Heery promotes Ed Newman to DC area manager

(WASHINGTON) — Nationally recognized design and construction management firm Heery
International has appointed Edward C. Newman III as its Washington, D.C., area manager. Newman was
most recently the director of project development responsible for new client development and teaming
opportunities throughout Washington, D.C., suburban Maryland and Virginia.

The West Point graduate, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, has held leadership
positions in major industry organizations, including serving as a past president of the Construction
Management Association of America’s (CMAA) National Capital Chapter.

Newman has more than 25 years experience in project management for public and private educational,
healthcare, transportation and municipal clients in the Mid-Atlantic area. He is a regular instructor in
CMAA’s training programs and has extensive experience with a variety of project delivery methods from
concept to occupancy. He is a registered professional engineer, a LEED Accredited Professional and a
Certified Construction Manager.

“Ed’s knowledge of our industry, in addition to his managerial and business development acumen, is
unparalleled,” said John Furman, Heery vice president and East region manager. “The sum of that work
experience is what makes him uniquely suited to take on this challenging leadership role for Heery. I am
certain it will help us better serve our clients in the D.C. marketplace.” The firm is currently working on
projects at the new Food and Drug Administration campus, National Archives, University of Maryland
and Washington, D.C. Public Schools.

Heery International is a 1500-person architecture, interior design, engineering, facility management,
program management and construction management firm with annual revenues of $1.2 billion. The firm is
organized on a regional basis with 35 offices located throughout North America. Heery is ranked annually
