BUILDING/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Intramural Sports Building (IMSB) Located on the Athletic Campus, the Intramural Sports Building (1928) was
the first collegiate intramural sport building in America. Inside this historical facility, you will find 4 basketball
courts, a 25-yard (5 lanes) swimming pool, free-weights and fitness rooms, and much more. Although IMSB is
primarily used for the Intramural Program, the Drop-In Program, Club Sports events, and a variety of special
events are also held in the facility. The Intramural Sports Building interconnects with Cliff Keen Arena on the
east, Canham Natatorium on the west, and the University of Michigan Varsity Track on the south. The IMSB is
also home to M-Rock, a climbing experience brought to you by Outdoor Adventures.


JOB DESCRIPTION:
Entrance Monitors are the first impression of the department and are more than just “card swipers.” The
Entrance Monitor greets members when entering the facility and checks for proper ID; promotes safe and
courteous behavior from members and enforces facility policies, procedures and rules. The Entrance Monitor is the
go-to person for questions about directions and departmental information.


QUALIFICATIONS :
   • Ability to guide, and direct patrons
   • Must be able to work for one academic semester
   • Demonstrate effective communication skills
   • Have a flexible work schedule to meet operations needs
   • Flexible hours, to include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends

HOURS:                              Must work a minimum 2 hour shift per week


COMPENSATION:                       $7.40/hr

    Because of our department's commitment to the Student Financial Aid Program, first consideration is given, in some
    positions, to those applicants who have received an award through the Federal or State of Michigan Work-Study
    award.

TRAINING:
We will prepare you to be successful at your job. It is the responsibility of the professional staff to make sure
