1 Keep up the good work. Rick Weaver for President!!!
2 it seems we are doing more with less based on initatives/requirements from Dallas -
perhaps scale back on some things so we don't burn out the volunteers (and as
such, get more people who are willing to volunteer).
3 I left the question above blank, as I was neutral on what and how the nominating
committee does it's job. The survey forced me to answer, so I selected "no" - only
because I can't say "yes" - I would have rather not answered as I don't have enough
experience as yet with it - things seem very "cliquish"
4 Recently people have been placed in leadership roles with no previous involvement
in the chapter. While in these roles, they never attend any chapter events, and only
fulfill their board roles remotely.
5 Good Job.
6 You do a fine job!

experience/qualifications are.

1 I am a volunteer and consistently impressed and encouraged with the dedication,
passion, and enthusiasm that my fellow committee members bring to the chapter.
2 iT WOULD BE GREAT IF THE CHAPTER COULD KEEP ITS MEMBERS ABREST
OF THE JOB SITUATION IN THE AREA AS THERE ARE STILL MANY OF OUR
MEMBERS WHO ARE UNEMPLOYED
3 I have offered to be part of the educational or program committee, but have not
been contacted accordingly. Would be happy to be more involved.
4 The board should ensure leaders are not over-bearing with volunteers and others
and that leaders always have the Chapter's best interest at heart. Matters can
sometimes, with certain people, turn into a competition to just win their own way
and the Chapter's best interest is lost. The board should make sure all leaders are
professional and learn how to delegate to committees and volunteers. Too oftern,
just one or two people are controling everything and that can limit an event's
5 I appreciate the time and effort that the Board and all the committees provide to
make the chapter worthwhile. I will try to be more active in the future.
6 The chapter is a great one however working in NYC is a big logistical consideration
to attending meetings.
7 I think we are a fantastic chapter and have evolved tremendously since my joining
the chapter in 1997. As a previous general volunteer, then Chair, then Director and
now working for the chapter I have seen us become more sophisticated and really
stepping up our offerings to keep our MEMBERS the key focus. I think from behind
the scenes we need to remember what we do well and not always add more and
more - to dilute the success we have worked so hard to achieve. It is uncertain in
8 More interactive Education between planners and suppliers
9 I wish I had more time to devote to MPIWC. The distance to many events from my
home base in Northern Fairfield makes it difficult to attend. And all fees come out of
my own pocket which makes it difficult. I may need to consider the New Haven
area chapter although the WC is much larger and more robust in terms of
programs. I am looking for work although I am employed full time so again, time is
minimal. Thank you again, everyone at MPIWC has been extremely supportive
whenever I need assistance.
10 I find the board to be very cliquey and not-inclusive of new board members. I hear
such negative comments about people “not in the clique” – it’s just really
disheartening.
11 I am a fairly new member of the chapter and have not attended enough events to
evaluate alot. Unfortunately evening events just don't work for me. Would love to
see more events during business hours. The one event I did attend was the trade
show which I did not feel was very supported by the meeting planner community.
12 I am a fairly new member so I have not had the opportunity to fully absorb all that
MPIWC has to offer.
13 I am a new member and have only attended a few events and was dissapointed
with the number of planners present at the events. I felt like there were a LOT of
suppliers (hotels, etc). I would like to know ahead of time the percentage of
planners vs the percentage of suppliers that are registered for the event to know if it
would be worth my while to attend.
14 I would like to become more involved this upcoming year. We have a great
organization, MPI WC. Unfortunately I am not planning events at my company;
however, it is something I am passionate about and would like to stay involved in.
15 Need more planners to balance with the hoteliers and suppliers.
16 better transition from current leadership to next/ new leadership at the committee
level.
17 Help me to continue my ROI with relevant and current education.
