DOING BUSINESS WITH THE AIR FORCE

Step 1: Register to Do Business with the Federal Government

3 basic steps that a small business or minority institution must take to sell their
products or services to the US Air Force.
 Small business or minority institution needs to be a registered contractor in the
Federal Government's Central Contractor Registration (CCR).
 CCR Website (www.ccr.gov)
 Must be registered in CCR prior to the award of a contract vehicle
 To register in CCR, a firm must have a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS)
number. The DUNS Number is assigned by Dun & Bradstreet, Inc. (D&B) to identify
   unique business entities.
 During the DUNS® and CCR registration processes, you will be asked for NAICS
codes, CAGE codes, and EIN. If you need assistance in finding any of them, use
   the resources below.

North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Standards - These codes
classify the type of products or services your firm is capable of offering.

Contractor and Government Entity (CAGE) Code - A CAGE Code is a five (5)
position code that identifies companies doing or wishing to do business with the
Federal Government. The Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS) in Battle
Creek, MI is the only authorized source of CAGE Codes.

Employer Identification Number (EIN) - This number can be also be obtained from
the IRS at 1-800-829-1040.
