           Following this format will help to expeditie your application

In HRP projects with cost estimates over $70,000 you are required to submit architectural drawings with a trade by trade
cost estimate on the RDA form. It can be found in the Excel file called "17 form app Trade Breakdown" .

Projects with cost estimates under $50,000 are required to have cost estimates that follow a room by room narrative,
or what is referred to as a "Work Write Up". In between $50,000 and $70,000 it is a judgement call decided by the RDA.

Prior to 2002 the RDA required developers to use a special Excel form as a Work Write Up. We have received mixed
reviews on this document. Some developers say it is a fantastic program (template) and still continue to use it. Others
say it was an unmanagable bear and not very useful during construction.

Currently we no longer "require" developers to use thr RDA form for Work Write Ups. We still make the template available
upon request. For a copy via email please make a request to: richard.franck@rda.phila.gov

We do require that all cost estimates follow the RDA "format", which require the cost estimates to quantify work items
according to per unit costs. For example "Install drywall ….350 sq.ft at $1.25 per sq.ft. for a total of $437.50 "

This cost estimate is an example of a room by room Work Write Up that was reviewed, revised, and approved in 2 weeks.

Please prepare your work write up following this format. When submitting them I prefer to receive two copies in "hard copy"
and one electronic version. There are two forms, they are found on the "tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet.
Work Write Up          Pay Out (this is an RDA form and is required as a first page on all work write ups).
