Subsequent revisions to the law, as reflected in the IDEA, have led to an increased emphasis on access to the general education curriculum, the provision of services for young children from birth to 5, transition planning to postsecondary settings and employment, and accountability for the achievement of students with disabilities. A recent class due process complaint was filed by the Southern Poverty Law Center and a coalition of advocacy groups against the Louisiana Department of Education claiming that students with disabilities were denied their educational rights under IDEA, including afree and appropriate public education (FAPE) .
