In a roundtable discussion, three community bank IT officers -- Mike Jensen, assistant VP, accounting information officer/systems manager, Brighton Bank in Salt Lake City, UT, Ron Laws, SVP and CFO, Community Bank Delaware in Lewes, DE, Marilyn McGaughy, IT officer, Community First Bank in Harrison, AR -- discussed compliance, security, and mobile and Internet banking. Community Bank Delaware does branch capture and remote deposit capture, according to Laws. Community First Bank has successfully rolled out mobile banking, said McGaughy. To cope with new compliance regulations, Brighton Bank has a deposit and operations compliance officer, said Jensen. The biggest challenge is a combination of things: adding value to the bank and its products while still maintaining compliance with new regulations. Laws like helping the associates out, identifying their problems, helping resolve them. Getting as much out of the system as they can that will help associates help customers.
