POSITION DESCRIPTION NIKE, INC. SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER U. S . C O M M U N I T Y A F FA I R S (World Headquarters, Beaverton, Oregon) The Opportunity Nike is seeking candidates for the position of Senior Program Manager in its U.S. Community Affairs Department. Nike is the world's largest shoe and sportswear company with annual sales of $13 billion. Position Description The Senior Program Manager will partner with the Director of U.S. Community Affairs and other key team members to develop, implement and evaluate annual and long-term strategies for continuing to build NikeGO as a legacy for the Nike brand in key communities with the ultimate goal of getting youth to be more physically active. Key responsibilities for the Senior Program Manager include the following: Create and implement the national and regional grants programs and initiatives that will continue to build NikeGO as the brand’s community legacy program. Develop, implement and evaluate NikeGO programs with appropriate non-profit organizations (Boys and Girls Clubs, the YMCA, Positive Coaching Alliance, SPARK, Head Start, American Academy of Pediatrics, etc.) governmental entities (CDC, state, county and federal departments of health, public school districts, etc.), and other partners to increase physical activity in youth in targeted markets. Develop and manage multi-stakeholder key partnerships that are integral to signature NikeGO initiatives. Identify, contact and build relationships with key national and regional figures (e.g., the Surgeon General’s Office, state epidemiologists, etc.) and thought leaders in areas of physical P.O. Work with senior leadership in brand management and other functions across Nike to communicate the NikeGO message, build the NikeGO profile and inspire enthusiasm and buy- in among Nike employees and key external audiences. Make presentations to national organizations and conferences, participate on conference panels, and draft submissions for awards to build credibility and profile. Skills and Experience The ideal candidate will have: Seven to ten years program management experience in a funding organization with responsibility for program development, funding recommendations development and presentation, budgeting and evaluation/reporting. Prior experience funding and developing programs in area(s) of youth physical activity, public education and/or after school youth programs; prior experience bringing programs into public school environments is a significant plus. Demonstrable prior success creating and managing multi-stakeholder partnerships and projects. Significant large-project management experience and success. Previous grant evaluation, non-profit organizational capacity assessment, meeting facilitation, partnership facilitation, financial documents assessment, and strategic planning experience. Significant demonstrable experience identifying and building national and local relationships with the public, non-profit and private sectors. Experience working with marketing and public relations functions to position and communicate programs and company point of view. Excellent written communication and verbal presentation skills. Ability to work well in a fast-paced, creative corporate culture. Energetic, knowledgeable and passionate about sports, fitness and youth involvement.
