					   YOUR INVITATION TO THE 2010 STATE CONFERENCE OF THE
         AMERICAN COUNCIL OF THE BLIND OF TEXAS

                   SUCCESS BEGINS WITH YOU!!!

The ACB of Texas 2010 State Conference will be held in Houston,
Texas, September 23-26, 2010, at the Hobby Airport Marriott Hotel,
9100 Gulf Freeway, Houston, TX 77017.

To make room reservations call 713-943-7979 or 1-800-229-9290. To
get the special group rate of $79.00 per night (single or double); state
that you are attending the ACB of Texas Conference. Reservations
with the hotel should be made by September 9, 2010.

HOTEL CHECK-IN AND -OUT – Check-in time is 3pm or later. Check-
out time is 12:00 Noon. A one-hour grace period will apply to Sunday
check-out for those attending the post-conference board meeting.

CANCELLATION POLICY– If you are unable to attend due to
unexpected changes in plans, you must cancel your hotel reservation
by 6pm on the day you were scheduled to arrive. Be sure to get a
cancellation number in order to avoid charges or penalties.

TRANSPORTATION – The hotel offers free shuttle to and from Hobby
Airport. Metrolift Paratransit Services are available with a two-week
prior arrangement for those who pre-qualify in your city. Please call
their office at 713-225-0119 for more details and to register.
Appointments must be made 1 day in advance of time needed.

REGISTRATION FEES AND INFORMATION
The registration fee for this year is $40.00 (made possible by a
generous donation from AT&T). ($50.00 on-site.) The fee includes:
access to the conference, meetings and exhibits, Thursday night
games, Friday night reception and entertainment, Saturday luncheon,
Saturday banquet and theatre and Sunday awards breakfast.
SPECIAL EVENTS (NOT INCLUDED IN REGISTRATION PACKAGE)

Walk-a-Thon (Saturday morning ACBT Fund Raiser) – $10.00 entry
fee. (Must fill out the form enclosed and the Waiver Release.) T-shirt is
included. Make this check payable to ACBT.
T-Shirts will be sold at the conference for $10.00 for those who want
one and are not participating in the walk-a-thon. T-shirt is yellow
with black writing.

MYSTERY CITY TOUR, HOUSTON, TX – Friday evening bus trip on a
mystery tour and dinner. A fun night of unknown thrills and food in
our city. Cost is $15.00 per person. Stay tuned for more details. 50
person capacity; first come, first serve.

Saturday breakfast sponsored by the Guide Dog Users of Texas.
FREE to GDUTX members or $18.50 for non-GDUTX members.

Because the hotel requires a meal count in advance, registration
forms and payment MUST be received by September 9, 2010, in order
to guarantee that you receive tickets to the conference meals. NO
REFUNDS! Registration at the door for conference meals will be
accepted only if space is available.

If you have special medical dietary needs, please let us know in
advance. If multiple family members are attending the conference,
each should fill out a separate registration form. Make copies of the
form as needed.
