Activity Sequence
ANOTHER NOTE: Number all steps sequentially, beginning each step with

grouping arrangement that best fits the activity, not necessarily what is
shown in the examples below.

   Whole group
   1. Do this.
                                                                                                        Facilitation Guide

Clarify or extend this (slides 1–3).

     2. Ask participants to do that. Refer to Name of Some Book.

     3. Have participants do something else, using pieces of paper.

Say this, or something similar, as you saw in slide 4. Italicize the spoken
     words.

     Pairs
     4. Have participants do something in pairs.

     Allow 10 minutes—4 minutes to write on index cards, then 6 minutes to talk;
use chime (if available) to signal change.

     5. Collect index cards and post them around the room. Encourage
participants to read the cards during breaks.

     Table groups
     6. Hand out worksheet (Session Title Handout 2) to each table.

     7. Have participants use handout to do something (30 minutes).

Provide 5-minute warning of the transition from table groups to whole group.

[Note: Be sure that all participants are joining in the activities.]

     Whole group
     8. Ask the table groups to share something they did with the whole group.
Use highlighters to mark worksheets someway.
