Connectivity Contractors - Bid Package 22
Sealed bids will be received by the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education at the Office of
Eperitus, LLC, 601 N Cherry Street, Winston-Salem, NC, up to ( 2:00 p.m. August 24, 2006 and
immediately thereafter publicly opened and read for the furnishing of labor, material and equipment
entering into the construction of the Installation of Telecommunication Connectivity and Electrical
Upgrades for the Kernersville Elementary and Lewisville Elementary School, Winston Salem, NC
Bids will be received for a single prime contractor. All proposals shall be lump sum.
A pre-bid meeting and mandatory project walk through will be held for all pre qualified bidders and
vendors on August 14 2006 at 9 a.m.. Meeting will commence at the front entrance of Kernersville
Elementary School then proceed to Lewisville Elementary School. Project specific questions, bidding
procedures, preferred brand alternates, performance specifications and HUB information will be
addressed for this project.
Complete plans, specifications and contract documents will be open for inspection in the offices of
Eperitus, LLC, or in the office of Applied Engineers, Questions should be directed to the
Designer or The construction manager.
Qualified Prime Contractors may obtain a maximum of two copies of the Bidding Documents after
August 4, 2006 in the offices of Eperitus, LLC, 601 N.Cherry St. Winston-Salem, NC , upon
deposit of fifty dollars ($ 50.00 ) per set in cash or certified check. The full plan deposit will be
returned only to prime contractors submitting bids provided all documents are returned in good
condition within ten (10) days after the bid date. No partial sets of documents will be issued.
Subcontractors and Prime bidders desiring more than two (2) sets of documents may purchase
additional sets of construction documents upon payment for cost of reproduction, shipping, and
handling directly from the Sharpe Images Inc. .
Bidders shall use complete sets of Bidding Documents in preparing bids; neither the Owner nor
Designer assumes responsibility for errors or misinterperetations resulting from the use of incomplete
sets of Bidding Documents.
A contractor must submit two original copies of the bid documents . Bidders should clearly indicate on
the outside of the bid envelope which contract(s) they are bidding.
All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license as required under the state laws
governing their respective trades and must meet all insurance requirements as noted in the

Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or a certified check drawn on a bank or trust
company, insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, of an amount equal to not less than
five percent (5%) of the proposal, or in lieu thereof a bidder may offer a bid bond of five percent (5%)
of the bid executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute the
contract in accordance with the bid bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the owner as liquidated

damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten days after the
award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law.
A performance bond and a payment bond will be required for one hundred percent (100%) of the
