Position: EVENT HOST/HOSTESS Department: Event Sales

The majority of the events booked at Stars and Strikes will include a Host/Hostess to coordinate
the food and activities for the event. Events include but are not limited to Birthday Parties,
Corporate Parties, Church or Day Care Outings, Baby/Wedding Showers etc. It is responsibility of
the hostess to make certain the customer and guests are having fun at Stars and Strikes with out
the stress of dealing with the details of the party – we handle that for them. Our goal is to insure
they have a great experience and continue to book group outings with our center!
If you love working with children of all ages, can work well under pressure in an enjoyable yet fast
paced environment – this may be the most fun job you’ll ever have!
JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Set up and clean up for events / Serving the party (Food distribution, cake cutting, drink
Coordinate activities for customer based on their events (Setting up on bowling lanes,
running lazer tag or bumper cars, distributing game cards, etc)
Will report to Event Sales Manager or Coordinator.
Must provide complete availability schedule that will include hours they are in class or
involved in other activity or out of town. Time off must be approved a minimum of two
weeks prior. This must be updated immediately when changed and turned in to Event
Manager and Coordinator.
Responsible for all aspects of the event execution during the event.
o If Host/Hostess has any last minute issues where they will not be able to work a
party… it will be their responsibility to first call another hostess to get the party
covered and also report changes to management.
o Must always arrive :60 minutes prior to the start of the event – no exceptions.
If the event is a larger party that time may be increased based on management
o Making sure party room or lane tables are completely cleaned and wiped down.
o Tables dressed with supplies.
o Assisting event contact/client with any needs or requests they may have such as
helping to set up additional decorations, cutting cake etc.
o Coordinating with other departments to make sure activities or food or bar
service will be on time and orderly for the event. This should be done prior to the
start of the event as well as during the event.
o Help to coordinate the event attendees with their activities (lazer tag, game
cards, getting bowling started, shoes or serving pizza or other food)
o Report to management immediately any problems or concerns of the event
o Always remain calm, courteous and act in a professional manner when working
with clients or other staff and management.
o Assist with any duties as assigned by Event Management.
o Hand out survey/customer evaluation form.
o Write thank you notes to event contact – turn in to Event Coordinator for mailing.
All notes must be read and approved by Event management prior to mailing.
o After each event, the area should be cleaned up and party rooms clean for
the next party or staged for the promotion of sales of that room. Failure to
do so will result in loss gratuity and removal from schedule.
Always!!! Responsible for making sure the party rooms are in order and are clean and
orderly after each event and set up ready for the next party. If no party is scheduled,
have the room clean - set up/staged to promote sales of the room.
Helps with maintaining a clean and orderly party supply closet – reporting any items that
are in need to reorder.
Any additional duties as needed. Such as mailing, addressing envelopes, etc.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL STARS & STRIKES POSITIONS INCLUDE:
Flexible work schedule, positions will be required to work various hours including evenings,
holidays and weekends. Positive attitude!
Able to pass drug and criminal background check.
Professional personality and appearance with excellent customer service skills.
Visible piercing other than ears and tattoos not accepted. Professional groom/hygiene mandatory
Supervisors must possess ability to supervise a part time staff with previous management experience preferred.
Trustworthy and Dependable.
