CENTER SPANISH CLASSES STARTING JUNE 1 AT THE CUBAN ART SPACE 231 WEST 29 STREET, 4TH FLOOR
Each class meets 2x weekly, 3 hrs each week Beginners, Mondays and Wednesdays, July 1st-August 12, 6-7:30 pm Intermediate Conversation, Mondays and Wednesdays, July 1st-August 12th, 10-11:30 am Plus Wednesday night Cuban film screenings, 7:30 (free for students)
24 hours, $400 / $350 for members
$100 deposit due May 20 to guarantee your place (Contact cubanartspace@gmail.com or call 212.242.0559) Materials to be used in the classes include the original materials used in the 1961 Literacy Campaign in Cuba!!! You’ll never find an opportunity like this, complete with farol to light your way (if you don’t know what this means, you will find out when you come to class). Let us know ASAP if you are interested, even if these classes do not work for you. There will also be a special intensive July course for educators (especially those who are interested in taking one of our August trips for teachers). Classes are being taught by Mariana Swick, who has studied at the University of Havana, traveled many times to Cuba, most recently in April 2009, and taught Spanish both in her native Portland, Oregon and in New York City.
