DIRECTOR, Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library and Museum, Austin, Texas The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) invites applications for the position of Director of the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library and Museum located on the campus of The University of Texas in Austin, Texas. Leading candidates will have extensive experience as a visionary and entrepreneurial leader of a major historical, archival, cultural, philanthropic, educational, or governmental institution. Also required is success in building and sustaining public-private or other coalitions and partnerships to advance the programs and missions of a public or private institution. Candidates should also have a strong interest and understanding of modern American history; skill in creatively broadening and serving their constituencies; and outstanding communications skills. The Library Director is responsible for planning, directing, and administering all programs and activities of the Library, including archival, museum, and educational programs. The Director of the Library works closely with the Lyndon B. Johnson Foundation and The University of Texas to develop public programs and services that enhance the growth and reputation of the Library as a center of public scholarship and service. The Director reports to the Assistant Archivist for Presidential Libraries for the National Archives and Records Administration. This is an excepted service Senior Level (SL) appointment within the Federal government with a salary range of $134,112 - $162,900.
