Youth Ministry
Rent-A-Teen - Do you need help washing windows or getting ready for spring? Why not Rent-A-Teen? Call
Tanya at 841-4480 ext. 34 and we will send out students who will help you get the job done. All money
donated will go towards those students’ 2010 Student Summer Trips.

Worship & Arts Ministries
Music Camp – Registration for our Music Camp has begun! Fill out an application form at the Information

Center and pick up your music. Camp is for rising 1 through rising 6 graders and will be held June 21-25
from 8:30 AM – 12:15 PM. This year’s camp is ―Everyday Heroes‖. Everyday heroes – that’s what God has
called His people to be! Not the fictitious superheroes of movies and cartoons… but real people, ordinary
people – people God works through to help others and accomplish His will on earth. Auditions for parts will
be held May 16, 23 & 30 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM in the Choir Room. Parts are listed in the book. We also need

His Kids & Handbell Concert – Plan to join us May 16, 6:30 PM as His Kids and our Handbell Choir
present their spring concert.

Concert of Prayer - Join us on Thursday May 6 at 6:00 PM for a Potluck supper and Concert of Prayer.
This is also the National Day of Prayer and we want to take time to pray for our nation, church body and
particularly, our search for a senior pastor. We would like each family to bring a main dish and A-N - a
salad/side dish; O-Z bring a dessert. This is a family event. It’s a school night but we’ll have you out by 7:30!
Childcare will be offered for children up to 5 years of age. The children will eat with you and then be taken to
childcare at 6:45pm – to register for childcare please email Amber Parker at

Children’s Ministries
Baptism - If your child is interested in being baptized on June 27 , they must sign up for a class that will be

taught by Susan Black in the senior pastor’s office on June 6 and June 13 at 9:30 am. At least one parent
must also attend these classes. There will also be a third class that will be taught by Pastor Dave on June
14 at 6:30pm that both the candidate and parents must attend. Please call Pastor Dave at 841-4480
extension 28 if you have a child that senses God prompting them to obey Him in this area. The deadline to
sign up for these classes is May 23 .

KidStuf - Our last KidStuf/ Sunday Night Live until the fall will take place tonight at 5:07 in the Worship
Center. We will explore the virtue of PATIENCE by using a funny drama, a relevant Bible verse found in
Proverbs, exciting worship, a great game, and a start and finish to our time that will be a blast for the entire
family. A hot dog supper will follow our night of celebrating our 5 year of Kidstuf.

Teaching Opportunity - If you would like to enjoy the opportunity of teaching Kindergarten children every
other week during second hour, please email Carolyn Austin at Pastor Dave

Mentoring Opportunity - If you are interested in reaching out as a ―lunch buddy‖ or other type of mentor
such as math or reading tutoring in our local public school system, please contact Pastor Dave at and he will contact you to discuss the possibility further with you. If you sign up to
be a lunch buddy, you need to be able to meet with an elementary child for one hour per week usually at the
noon hour.

Global Outreach
Reception for CBC Missionary Henry Vargas—Join us on Monday, May 3 for a dessert reception for
Henry Vargas (Nicaragua) and his financee Elizabeth Gutirrez. We will meet in the Video Café at 7:00 PM.
Come hear how God put Henry and Elizabeth together and how they are going to share their lives and
ministry together.

Annual GO Yard Sale—The date of our annual yard sale is Saturday, May 15. This is our main fundraiser
for all our stateside and foreign mission trips so we’re counting on your donations (no clothing, shoes or
handbags, please). For you folks who have been cleaning out and are ready to donate, we have a storage
pod available for donations which is located behind the Gym. Donations can be dropped off during church
business hours (please stop by or call the office so that we can unlock the pod). If you need to drop off
donations on the weekend, please call Lee Worden at 336-847-4040 for directions on unlocking the pod. We
would like to thank Elizabeth Siler with PODS for the generous donation of our storage unit! Donations will
also be accepted on Thursday, May 13 between 4:00pm-9:00pm or Friday, May 14 between 9:00am-

Pioneers-Africa Partnership Forum—you are invited to hear what God is doing in West Africa on
Saturday, May 8 at 5:00 PM in the Video Café. We will hear from Pioneers-Africa’s founder Dr. Solomon
Aryeetey and Pioneers-Africa Base Director Fred Agbossey-Dimado, both of whom CBC has supported and
partnered with for many years. Dinner will be served, so you will not want to miss this special event. For

Lighthouse Hispanic Ministry
Ministry Opportunity - The Lighthouse Ministry is looking for volunteers to help transport people who would
like to come to church Sunday morning but do not have transportation. If you would be willing to pick up a
family or individual, please contact Daniel Gomez at 988-9364.

Local Outreach
Baby Shower - You are cordially invited to the baby shower for Heba Taylor, our missionary with
International House of Prayer, and the daughter of Farid and Judy Wissa, this Saturday, May 1 at 3:00 PM at
4401 Hunter Oaks Court. RSVP if possible to Heba is registered at Target,
BabiesRUs, and

Baby Bottles for Pregnancy Care Center – If you picked up a baby bottle to fill to help out the Pregnancy
Care Center with expenses, you can place it in the basket at the Information Center on Sunday. Thanks so
much for helping with this ministry.

Food Pantry – Our food pantry is getting low on supplies. Would you consider bring along an item or two on
Sunday? We need staples such as peanut butter, pasta, sauce, rice.

World Relief is collecting bed pillows for refugees coming into the High Point area. Most refugees arrive
in NC without any of the basic household items to set up a home. Your gift will be a great blessing to them.
A box is located in the Information Hallway where you can place pillows.

Adult Ministries
Men’s Tuesday Morning Bible Study – The Pursuit of Holiness by Jerry Bridges. Join us at 6:25 AM in
the Video Café for food, teaching, and small group discussion time. This week Pastor Rob Black will teach
on Habits of Holiness, Romans 6:19.

New Men’s Study – ―Gospel in Life‖, Grace Changes Everything – beginning Tuesday May 11th in the Video
Café. Join us men as we start a new morning study. We begin with a great breakfast at 6:25am followed by
teaching and small group discussion.
            Young Married Sunday school Class – Join us each week at 9:30am in the Red Room. On
            May 9 we will begin the Chip Ingram ―R12 Christian‖ video/group discussion series. This class
            is led by Todd & Tanya Shelton and Mike & Susan Wagner.

55 Alive Group – Tuesdays from 10-11:30 AM in the Video Café. Please join us for fellowship,
refreshments and Bible Study.

MOMS - Join us on Thursday mornings from 9:15-11:15 AM. It’s for women of all ages! This year we are
focusing our talks on living a ―Christ-centered‖ life. Each session is self contained which allows life to
happen even if you cannot commit to coming each and every week. We are very blessed to be able to
provide child care from the very youngest of babies to home school-aged children. If you have any questions,

Adult Sunday School Class –at 9:30 AM in the Choir Room. This Sunday Al Neumann teach on
Contentment, Psalms 131:1-3.
Membership Class – Saturday, May 8 from 8:30am-12pm. If you are interested in membership with CBC
or would like to know more about our denomination – then register for this one day class. This is a great
option for people who serve on Sunday mornings. You must register by May 2 to attend this class.

Women’s Summer Bible Study – Ladies, be sure to attend the Women’s Summer Bible Study, beginning in
June! We will be studying ―Life Principles from Women of the Bible‖ Book No. 2. Women whose lives we will
examine include Elizabeth, the Woman at the Well, Abigail, Bathsheba and more. Barb Eller, Jennifer
Anderson, Susan Black, Jane Schrum, Nancy Harvey, Dana Landreth and Ginger Keziah will lead us
through this seven-week class beginning June 16. The study will be offered at two different times on
Wednesdays: mornings from 9:30 to 11 AM (with childcare provided for infants through age 6) and evenings
from 7:00 to 8:30 PM (no childcare provided). You are encouraged to sign up for this exciting study! The cost
of the book is just $12, and you can sign-up and get your book on Sunday in the Information Hallway.
