Position: Donor Contracts & Fundraising Manager

Purpose of Job:
To manage Donor Contracts and Fundraising activities for the CP. 70% of the jobholder’s time
will be given to Donor Contracts Management and reporting
Donor Contracts Management
Assist Programme and Finance staff in understanding and conforming to specific donor
requirements in all aspects of project implementation, management and monitoring
Identifying gaps, developing and implementing plans to ensure that the Country
Programme and the recipient partners have the requisite capacity to manage the funds
Develop and implement guidelines for Donor Contract Reporting such that is timely and
of required standard
Develop and maintain donor funding matrix and reporting schedules and ensure that
donor commitments are met completely, adequately and timely
Work with the Finance department on the financial monitoring of contracts and
development of expenditure reports
Ensure the maintenance of a consolidated and effective contract management system
for the country programme
Assist in building relationships with new donor’s in-country for programmatic, policy and
funding relationships. Also keep up to date with local and international donor policies.
Initiate and coordinate all funding contracts, from proposal development to
monitoring and report writing, and donor relationship building for the Country
Present, negotiate and ensure contractual obligations are met for prospective and
existing supporters of WaterAid.
Ensure the installation and maintenance of a new contact management system
with all supporters of WaterAid in the Country.
Research and secure new funding streams from national-based corporate clients,
individuals, trusts and statutory sources for support of Country Programme and
Work with Regional programme Officer (RPO), and Public Funding Manager (PFM) in
UK to identify suitable (and new) projects to offer donors and develop an annual
schedule for preparation of such proposals in line with the target set within both the
regional and country fundraising strategies.
Work with WaterAid UK Marketing department, particularly with Corporate, Events and
Programme Funding team in order to maintain clear communication channels when
approaching new donors and managing existing ones.
Respond in a timely manner to any reasonable request or further responses to donors
from the Regional Fundraising Officer, Marketing Department, Public Funding Manager
and Public Policy and Education Department in WaterAid UK Office on the development
of annual fundraising plans and the allocation of programme work to different donor
Set annual timelines (to be agreed with your line manager) to assist in developing new
country funding proposals and the submission of progress reports and claims on existing
contracts and monitoring progress against these timetables.
Assist WANG and project Partners (NGOs, CBOs, Local Authorities and
government agencies) to develop and implement their fundraising strategy to meet
the ongoing needs and strategic focus of WaterAid Nigeria and partners strategic
plans under the LMDG-I innovative financing mechanism in consultation with staff,
and the Regional Management Team.
Liaise with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to communicate effectively the
development activities, goals and strategies of WaterAid Nigeria programmes
Ensure capacity needs of the WaterAid staff and partners are met in order to enable
each Sub Programme and partners to effectively manage their fundraising activities/
donor reporting activities

Post graduate qualification in
