DIRECTIONS TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION TRAINING CENTER 4801A URBANA PIKE, FREDERICK, MARYLAND From Washington D.C.: Take I-270 north to the Maryland Route 80 – Urbana exit (Exit 26). Turn left at the bottom of the ramp (stop sign) onto Rte. 80 towards Urbana. Follow Rte. 80 a short distance and proceed around the traffic circle to the Route 355 intersection. Turn left onto Route 355 North towards Frederick. Proceed on Route 355 North for approximately 3.5 miles from this turn. Look for the Moncacy National Battlefield Park, Gambrill Mill sign on the right (directly across from Araby Church Rd) and immediately turn right into the park. The HPTC headquarters is located within the park. Stay on the paved park entry road, drive past the stone building on the left, and proceed up the hill to the large house that is the HPTC office. Enter the house at the side porch. Offices are on the second floor.
From Washington/Dulles Airport: From airport road, take Rte. 28 north towards Leesburg, VA. From Rte. 28 take Rte. 7 west to Rte. 15 north towards Frederick, MD. Stay on Rte. 15 until it merges with Rte. 340. Stay on Rtes. 340/15 north until you reach the I-70 east exit. Take the I-70 east exit towards Baltimore. From I-70 east take exit #54 for Rte. 355 south. (It should be the second exit). From the exit turn left at the 2 nd traffic light onto Rte. 355 South. Go approximately 3 miles, cross the Monocacy River and take first left into the park. After you enter, follow directions above. From Baltimore/Washington (BWI) Airport: From Airport road (I-195), take the exit for Route 295, stay on Rte. 295 until the exit for I-695, take I-695 north towards Towson, MD. Stay on I-695 to exit for I-70 West. Take I-70 west to Frederick. In Frederick take exit #54 for Rte. 355 South. Follow Route 355 south pass the Visitor Center, cross the Monocacy River and take the 1 st left. After you enter, follow directions above.
