The Symposium’s Material Focus

Information on the venue
Conference dates: 12th - 14th November 2009. Conference location: Hotel “Kolovare” in Zadar -
Croatia (Hrvatska) (http://www.hotel-kolovare-zadar.htnet.hr/kolovare_eng.htm). The weather in

beautiful coast so called “riva” (with original Dalmatian national foods, fish and drinks).

Symposium’s purpose
The aim of the Symposium is to bring together experts in Kinesiological education with a different
background to discuss the current developments in the Knowledge Kinesiology. The changing
landscape involves quite complex issues not so easy to grasp by an individual expert. The aim is
further not to go into detailed technicalities, but to discuss the complexity at level that is
understandable by non-experts and enables the discussion of the Kinesiological education in Pre
School and primary education complexities to the mutual benefit of all participants. Papers accepted
by two independent reviewers will be published in the Conference Proceedings. The conference
intends to attract professionals, students and academics alike.

The Situation
Physical education, due to its significance for coherent development of anthropological
characteristics of children, is unique in its possibilities and characteristics. Physical education, due
to its significant for coherent development of anthropological characteristic of children is unique in
its possibilities and characteristic. There are few activities for children who have such a significant
influence on quality of there life as physical education, which can be achieved with strictly planned
process of transformation of anthropology status, motor knowledge and achievements in field of
kinesiology education. School and preschool institutions are invited to give the answers to way of
modern life that has, in one extend, negative influence on children from the early age. This situation
is increasing responsibility of school and preschool institutions in seeking adequate answers.
Assumption of optimal answer is professional, scientific based work, adequate to goal orientate
development of children characteristic which are aimed towards development and improvement of
knowledge, skills and characteristic who are in specific age group progress primary for preschool
children and children in primary education. The aim is to establish a system of monitoring
anthropological characteristics, motor knowledge and achievement and educational variables
essential for planning the work in the field of kinesiological education of preschool children and
children in lower grades of elementary education. Respected this assumptions it is possible to
optimize kinesiological education with preschool children in lower grades and primary education.
Subject of Symposium is particularly topical with curriculum changes abroad in Europe and at
home, where the scientific conference conclusions including this symposium could have and should
have influence to the changes of kinesiological knowledge. The Symposium is part of scientific
project (Kinesiological education in pre school and primary education), executed with support of
Ministry of Science, Education and Sport of Republic of Croatia.
