Backcountry Camping
Areas suitable for camping can be found adjacent to trails such as Glade Creek, Brooklyn-Southside Junction and Stone Cliff trails. Other sites are along the river, accessible by boat. ♦ ♦ Camping is prohibited at Grandview, Brooklyn Island, day-use areas, and within Bluestone National Scenic River. Camping is prohibited within 100 feet of state roads, parking lots, trailheads, boat launch areas, visitor centers, park structures, top or bottom of cliffs, and historic areas. One third of the land within the park is private property. Respect the rights of landowners.

National Park Service Primitive Campgrounds
Campsites are available at the areas listed below on a first come basis. The number of sites at each area is limited. Each area has vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings and/or fixed outdoor grills, but no potable water. A ranger will visit sites daily to register campers; stay limit 1 to 14 days. Army Camp Location: turn on one lane road immediately north of the bridge crossing New River on WV 41 near Prince Brooklyn Location: travel 4.6 miles on Gatewood Road from Fayetteville to Cunard turn-off, go 1.8 miles and follow signs to Cunard River Access, at river level turn right and follow dirt road approx. 1 mile
