1.field trip to collect data in Fuerteventura Island
(November 2001).
2. Use of GIS Canarymap 4.0 to collect spatial data and to
identify environmental features.
3. Use of collected data in the SWOT analysis system.

Conclusions

•A GIS system is a useful tool to extract coastal data
that can be used in a SWOT analysis.

•The implementation of a GIS system in the first
stages of the SWOT analysis can help us extract, store
and show data.


•Standard SWOT systems can be improved
through the modification and creation of new standard
indicators and standard coefficients.
