2009-2010 (Cycle XVIII)
Grant Amount: Up to $1,000
Cahuilla CUE seeks proposals for projects that integrate technology into instruction, in order to
improve teaching in any curricular area. It is expected that the Cahuilla CUE grant funds will be
utilized to purchase equipment necessary to support the project and that equipment purchased under
this grant will belong to the teacher, not the school. Cahuilla CUE grant funds may not be used for
salaries, stipends or transportation. Successful applicants will be notified after the March 2010 Spring
CUE Conference in Palm Springs.
1. Applicant must be a member in good standing and have joined Cahuilla CUE as of January

Describe the instructional need that you wish to address. (Specifically, what the problem is that your
project will solve). Give a short description of how the project will address this need (i.e. solve the
II. OBJECTIVES (10 points)
Describe what your students will know and be able to do as a result of your project that they could
not do (or do as well) before.
III. PROCEDURES/ACTIVITIES (15 points)
Describe your project, including any instructional materials, curriculum or activities that you will create
and how your project will utilize the hardware and/or software purchased by the grant.
IV. EVALUATION (10 points)
Describe how you will measure and evaluate the success of your program (i.e. how you will determine
that the project was successful).
V. BUDGET (5 points)
List specific brand names, vendors, items and prices (be sure to calculate any applicable taxes).

Successful applicants will write an article for the 2010-2011 Cahuilla CUE Newsletter
describing their grant project and its implementation.
Successful applicants will volunteer four hours of service to Cahuilla CUE.
Successful applicants will develop and implement the project described on this application.
Successful applicants will, upon completion of the project, submit receipts (or clear copies) for
hardware and software purchased with grant monies)
The grant proposal will undergo a “blind” evaluation/scoring by a committee of Cahuilla CUE Board
members. The cover page will be removed and coded with an ID number prior to scoring. Since the
grant committee will not be provided with the identity of the applicants or the names of the schools/
districts, it is possible that more than one project from a school or district could be funded.
