IV.      GOVERNANCE
        Members of the Board and their brief background

       a) Sri Vaziruddin Ahmed Siddiqui is the President of the society. He is
          Correspondent of A.Q.J. Degree College and A.Q.J. Center for P.G.Studies at
          M.V.P.Colony, Visakhapatnam. He is able to successfully manage the affairs of the
          two Educational Institutions without any difficulty and achieve excellent results. The
          student strength of these two institutions is 690. The members of Mohammed
          Vaziruddin Educational Society and confident that under his stewardship, the
          proposed Engineering College also would attain greater heights in the field of
          Technical Education in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

       b) Smt. Fathima Sultana, Mother of Sri V.A.Siddiqui, is the Vice-President of the
          Mohammed Vaziruddin Educational Society and is going to look after the
          administrative matters of the society.

       c) Sri Iqbal Hussain Farooqui, Secretary to the Society is looking after the financial
          management of A.Q.J.Degree College and A.Q.J. Center for P.G.Studies at
          M.V.P.Colony, Visakhapatnam. He is Post Graduate in Business Administration from
          Andhra University. He is well experienced and fully acquainted with the needs and
          requirements of educational institutions having been associated with two Educational
          Institutions of Maqbool Hussain Educational Welfare Society, right from their initial
          stages. He is competent and able in achieving the set goals.

       d) Sri J.A.Qureshi, Joint Secretary, to the Society is a Graduate in Business
          Administration from Andhra University. He is looking after ACE Travels at
          Visakhapatnam, which is a well known and dependable service unit. It ranks among
          the top travel agencies in Visakhapatnam-ranking either 1st or 2nd in the field.

       e) Sri H.A.Jafri is the Treasurer of the Society. He was associated with the Degree
          College of the Society at the Rajahmundry as its Administrator as earned a name for
          the college in discipline and quality education.

       f) Sri K.N.Ahmad, is an Executive Member of the society and is based at
          Rajahmundry. He is a Graduate in Arts and a retired Additional Superintendent of
          Police.

       g) Mrs. Farhat Jeelani, a Post Graduate in Business Administration from A.U. is a
          Member of the Society. She is presently an NRI residing in London, U.K.

       h) Mrs. Tahniyath Rasheed is a Post Graduate in English from Andhra University. She
          has also pursued her B.Ed., from Andhra Unviversity. She is presently an NRI
          residing in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

       i) Mrs. Nuzhath Imitiaz is a Post Graduate in English from Andhra University. She is
          presently an NRI residing in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

 Nature and Extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs
  improvements.

        Senior Faculty Members are nominated to the Governing Body and the Advisory
         Body.
        Student’s feedback is taken in prescribed format at the end of every academic year
         and exit Interviews are conducted with students at the end of their study period to
         get suggestions for improvement of academic activity.
        In view of the performance in the recent placement activity some faculty who are
         expertise in the Technical aspects have been involved to give additional training
         for students. Faculty Members have been deputed from various departments for
         attending the conferences and seminars to improve their academic talents.
        Separate training has been provided to the students to improve their mathematical,
         communication and personal development skills by reputed institutions existing in
         the city of Visakhapatnam along with other expertise features & Placement
         Officer.


 Mechanism / Norms & Procedure for democratic / good Governance.

        Administrative area setup in the campus consists of Principal’s Room, Visitors
         Lounge, Staff Room, College Office, Departmental Offices, sources of various
         Conference Room. The Amenities’ area consists of Canteen, Common Rooms,
         Rest Rooms, Recreation Centre, Gymkhana, Hobby Centre, Alumni Association,
         Cooperative Stores, and Health Centre.
        Adopted certain Administrative procedures, appointment of Medical Officer in the
         campus (on the part time basis), Constitution of Grievances Cell and Installation
         of Grievances Box exclusively for students, Installation of one rupee coin
         telephone box. Steps are being taken to introduce the units of NCC & NSS in the
         campus.
        In addition to the above sufficient number of fire fighting units have been
         provided, stand by generator has also been installed to ensure uninterrupted power
         supply to the laboratories and essential services.

 Student Feedback on Institutional Governance / Faculty performance.

 Grievance Redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students.

       Grievances Redressal Cell is constituted with Director (Academics), Chief
       Administrative Officer, Administrative Officer & Heads Of Departments of
       concerned department to consider any grievances from among the students. A
       Grievances Box with a locker facility has been installed at the Principal’s Room and
       kept under the control of the Principal.

                                PLACEMENT CELL
Placement Cell has been established in the year 2005 to help the students in getting selected
by various companies. It has been doing a wonderful job in training the students to match
with the requirements of the companies. Forty Seven of this college students got selected by
various reputed companies from the first batch and which motivated the juniors to improve
their skills to match with the requirements of the companies.
Sri Y.Jagannadha Rao, MIRPM, M.Phil, has been appointed as Placement Officer in the
month of July’ 06 and ever since he has been putting forth all efforts to make good number
of students gets selected by the companies. As a part of this, good number of colleges got
pooled together and started conducting Pooled Campus drives in Visakhapatnam to allow
students to participate in good number of drives.


Globalization has changed the Employment Scenario in our country and there is huge
requirement is there for the companies and only thing is that they are searching for the
prospective candidates. Keeping in view of the above, College has started giving Training to
the III year students to live up to the expectations of the companies. College has got tied up
with specialists who can train the students in Quant and Verbal aptitude to fit for the
Recruitment drives.. By the time they enter into the final year, they will be fully equipped
with all the ingredients that are essential for them to prove in the Campus drives to be
conducted by the companies. Apart from this, College is conducting special classes to impart
technical skills to the students, which is essential for them to prove in the drives conducted by
various companies.


Al-Ameer College of Engineering is now one of the partner colleges for INFOSYS initiated
Campus Connect Programme. Under this programme, Soft Skills and Technical skilled are
inculcated into the minds of the students to match with the requirements of the industry.
Infosys has trained the staff member to handle the classes.


College Management has been taking due care to provide all the necessary support to the
Placement Cell to improve its efficiency. A separate Placement Cell has been establish with
all necessary provisions and a Lap Top has been provided to the Placement Officer with
24hrs internet connectivity, to be in touch with the Companies which are visiting the town
and conducting the drives. We are quite sure that with all this support, in the coming years
College will be identified as one of the top three institutions in Visakhapatnam.
