					                     MERRY CHRISTMAS

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall
conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14 )
A lot of folks are trying desperately to take the "Christ" out of Christmas.
They prefer "Happy Holidays" over Merry Christmas and "Holiday Trees" over
Christmas trees. They prefer "Xmas" over Christmas. They want to get rid
of the Savior because they don't want to deal with the fact that they need to
be saved from their inherent sin. They think they can just pretend they are
not sinners, give Christ the shove and the problem of their sin will simply go
away. Talk about pipe-dreaming.

These "Holiday Season" 'fraidy cat, party-poopers are the very same ones
who deny the fact that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin. They argue that
the Hebrew word for "virgin" really means "young woman." However, I
looked that word up for myself in a Hebrew dictionary many years ago. The
word is "almah" and though it does mean "young woman" it is never
intended to deny that young woman's virginity. The word literally means "a
young woman who is pregnant yet still a virgin." There is simply no way to
deny that the mother of Jesus Christ remained a virgin until after Jesus was

Why was it so important that Jesus be born of a virgin? I would like to
answer this question scientifically, Biblically and simply.

God originally created man sinless, in His own image and with a free will
(Genesis 1:26). Man could choose to obey or disobey God. God explained
to Adam very carefully that by disobeying Him and eating from the Tree of
the Knowledge of Good and Evil, he would no longer be sinless and he would
lose his authority in the Earth.

Now, let's cut right to the chase. Adam, representing the entire human
race, disobeyed and now God was in a crisis. The Justice of God demanded
that He punish the man to keep him from a lifestyle of disobedience. The
Mercy of God demanded that He forgive the man so that he would trust God
and continue to love Him.

What was God to do? We call this crisis of the ages, "God's Divine
Dilemma." Fortunately, God's Justice and His Mercy are not His two greatest
attributes. The Love of God is His greatest attribute. In His love God came
up with a plan that would satisfy both His Justice and His Mercy. That plan
involved a substitute taking the punishment for God's created man. .

First, the substitute had to be sinless in order for the sacrifice to be
acceptable to God. No other human being could be that sacrifice. Why not?
Because all human beings get their blood from Adam and Adam's blood is
tainted through his sin. Therefore, all human blood is tainted by Adam's
sin.(Romans 5:17) So what was the solution? Read on and see what only
God could do and actually did.

It is a proven scientific and medical fact that all babies get their blood from
their father, not their mother. Therefore, God's substitute would have to
have an earthly mother to make him human but he could not have an
earthly father. An earthly father would infuse him with tainted blood.
Therefore, God's substitute would have to have God as his Father. This
would make him divine as well as human WITH PERFECT BLOOD, not Adam's
tainted blood, pulsing through his veins.

That's right. Creator God Himself would create a human seed directly inside
a virgin's uterus without involving human sexual relationship. That way her
offspring would have Holy Blood, created by God for this very purpose.
Blood which would be untainted by an earthly father. The child would grow
up human in every way yet at the same time be perfect, sinless and divine
because he would be a carrier of God's blood. (Luke 2:52) As an adult he
would then become God's perfect, acceptable, sinless sacrifice for the sin of
humanity. (John 3:16-17)

This is why Jesus had to be born of a virgin, with God as His Father - to
become the perfect, sinless, willing, human, divine substitute with God's
Holy Blood surging through His veins. This is why the Bible says, "For he
hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made
the righteousness of God in him." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Can you see it? The Justice of God and the Mercy of God were satisfied by
the Love of God, supplying His own substitutionary sacrifice for the sin of
man. This is why I always tell negative preachers who preach about an
angry God, "Don't ever try to tell me God is angry with humanity after what
I've seen in the Bible He's done through Jesus."

Now let's talk about you for a moment. Have you accepted God's sinless
substitute on your behalf? Do you believe Jesus was born of a virgin to
become your sinless Savior? If so, simply say, "Jesus, You're my sinless
choice." (Romans 10:13) You'll become God's child, supernaturally
qualifying not only for Eternal Life with Him but also for His provision and His
protection in this life. (Psalm 103:1-5; John 1:12; Romans 6:23) Things will
stop happening TO you and start happening FOR you. Won't that be nice for
a change?

This is why we are not ashamed to say "Christ" should never be taken out of
Christmas. It's the one time of the year the whole sinful world is reminded
of their need for a Savior. This is why we don't buy the "Happy Holidays"
and "Holiday Season" lie. This is why we boldly say, "Merry Christmas. And
yes, we do mean Christ. He alone paid for your sins and mine."

Let's take a mature, truthful stand for keeping Christ in Christmas no matter
who it offends.

Better to offend man than to offend Holy God - wouldn't you say?
