Welwyn Lacrosse Club – Registration Form
Welwyn Lacrosse club is affiliated to the English Lacrosse Association (ELA). The ELA acts as the
Governing Body of Lacrosse in the UK and controls, promotes and develops Lacrosse throughout the
country for women, men and juniors. It is a requirement of the ELA that all members must be registered on
the ELA “on-line” database prior to taking part in lacrosse activity related to playing, coaching, officiating,
managing and any other volunteer work where liability cover (through registration) is relevant. This applies
equally to juniors (those under 16 at 1st September) and seniors.
Membership of the ELA is covered by membership of Welwyn Lacrosse Club. That is, it is free to all players,
committee members, volunteers and parents of players for Welwyn Lacrosse Club.
English Lacrosse Membership
English Lacrosse Membership benefits include:
Annual subscription to ‘Lacrosse talk’ – the only national Lacrosse magazine
Eligibility to play in English Lacrosse sponsored events and leagues
Public Liability Insurance coverage for all members watching or playing Lacrosse
Discounts with participating companies
For Club Members (All Players, Referees and Volunteers) ...
All club members must be registered to the ELA system in order to receive Lacrosse talk magazine and be
eligible to take part in any activity under English Lacrosse auspices including competitive games. Players
who are not registered do not receive complimentary insurance coverage and therefore jeopardise the
position of the club officials, other players (both your team and your opponents) and referees if they play. As
soon as individuals are included on the membership, they are eligible to take part in all activities. Please
note that clubs reserve the right to remove individuals from their membership.
Registration is a simple procedure through the ELA website. Please click on this link click here to register >
and follow the on screen instructions to complete the registration procedure. (This link takes you direct to
the registration page of the ELA). Their website is at http://www.englishlacrosse.co.uk/. The registration
page can be found under “membership” (left hand side of the home page); and then click the “The English
Lacrosse Online membership system” on the top right of this page.
It is essential that if you are a player, volunteer or committee member that you register on this website in
order for you, your team mates, the club and the opposition to be suitably covered by public liability
insurance. It also covers those watching lacrosse so is advisable for parents of players who will be doing this
as well. Please do this as soon as possible.
If you have any queries about this please do not hesitate to contact me.
