                       Hedge Fund Project Accountant

                       Working with a specialised asset management company created in 2005 and a fully owned
                       subsidiary of a well known Investment Bank, itself a subsidiary of one of the largest French
                       banks. The company specialises in providing a range of alternative investment solutions: it
                       provides a platform of managed funds, funds of hedge funds and hedge funds incubation and
                       emerging managers programs.

                       Main responsibilities:
                        Prepared the ICAAP document – FSA’s Basel 2 CRD Directives - Pillar 2 requirement was
                           the implementation of an ICAAP by the 31st of December 2007. Prepared the ICAAP
                           document by assessing the risks of the company via discussions with the Operations
                           Manager, Risk Manager, CFO, CEO, Compliance team, Directors and other senior
                           personnel in the organisation. Designed, developed and performed scenario analysis as
                           required by the ICAAP. Co-ordinated the review of the ICAAP with the external
                           consultants – Throgmorton
                        Liaised extensively with external liquidators in ensuring liquidation of selected hedge
                           funds incorporated in the Cayman Islands according to the Cayman Islands liquidation

                       International Review Project
                       The DD Group expanded from a UK operation to an international operation in a period of less
                       than 24 months. The international property investment operations are structured via complex
                       tax efficient group structures which are a combination of joint venture agreements with various
                       parties or fully owned DD structures. The International Review project focussed on the
                       property investment side of the business and encompassed a review of DD’s international

                       identified as deficient in terms of risk management. This was a process re-engineering project.
                       The main aim of the project was to identify and address market, settlement and credit risks
                       pertaining to the counterparty approval and annual review process, and to gather the
                       information required in order to manage risk to Hermes and its clients.

                           Documenting systems scope, developing and documenting new procedures for
                            counterparty approval process and the annual review process.
                           Meetings with various departments within Hermes involved in the process to source
                            information and suggestions on improving the process. These information-gathering
                            meetings were held with senior members of the legal, compliance, operations, equity and

                           In order to develop a dynamic risk assessment model, research was undertaken to
                            identify new procedures which could assist in the counterparty risk assessment. This

                           Researching and preparing a summary of financial ratios and selected ratios applicable to
                            counterparty risk evaluation. Performed financial analysis on these counterparties.
                           Researching and preparing a paper on differing business models (such as crossing
                            network, direct market access, integrated institutions, agency houses', regional brokers
                            and small cap market makers) to understand risks associated with these models and to
                            allocate risk levels to each model.
                           Analysed all the available information and developed a methodology to assess
                            counterparty risk based on all the different risk factors identified.
