In 2006, several experienced music teachers formed the NZ Music Examinations Board (k nown as NZMEB for short ). The intention is to offer a quality curric ulum for NZ music students at affordable ex am prices. Most examiners are drawn from New Zealand with a few from Australia. In its inaugural year, there were exams in 12 centres and over 500 candidates. The examining standard was very high and the students excelled themselves. Exams included Piano Performance, Piano for Pleasure, Theory of Music, Violin, Singing, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Flute and Clarinet. For information about the exam curricula available, look at the website NZMEB.org or contact NZMEB on 0800 388 748. The board includes Beverley Read, Hazel Hausman, Pauline Alexander, Lynne Gardiner, Robert Crawford, and Margaret Seagrave. During 2007, the board has moved to have a permanent office in Wellington (local number 479- 0909) and intends to complete more curricula so a full suite of orchestral instruments is able to be examined. ========================================================================= ================================================= ======================== 8/ Band members wtd/available Session Drummer A vailable I'm a professional freelance drummer originally from London.
