responsibilities on the “paying day job” front – but now that is all sorted and I‟m back in force!

New Zealand Music Examinations Board Formed.
In 2006, several experienced music teachers formed the NZ Music Examinations Board (k nown
as NZMEB for short ). The intention is to offer a quality curric ulum for NZ music students at
affordable ex am prices. Most examiners are drawn from New Zealand with a few from Australia.
In its inaugural year, there were exams in 12 centres and over 500 candidates. The examining
standard was very high and the students excelled themselves. Exams included Piano
Performance, Piano for Pleasure, Theory of Music, Violin, Singing, Saxophone, Trumpet,
Trombone, Flute and Clarinet.
