2011 RI ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR NOMINATION FORM
Anyone may nominate an assistant principal for consideration as RI Assistant Principal of the Year. This
program is designed to recognize the outstanding leadership of active, front- line assistant principals.
Nominees must meet the following criteria:
Be actively serving as an assistant principal (vice principal, associate principal, or dean) of a
public or private middle or high school.
Must have been in an assistant principal role at one or more middle level or high schools for a
minimum of two full years.
Must be an active member of RIASP and NASSP

Along with this completed nomination form, please attach a letter of recommendation for this assistant
principal to be selected as the 2011 RIASP Outstanding First Year Principal. Please include responses to
the following two prompts within that recommendation.
1. Describe the nominee’s achievements in his/her role as school assistant principal.
2. Describe those personal qualities, leadership competencies, and skills that make this nominee an
outstanding assistant principal.
All information will be treated in a confidential manner. The winner of this award will be recognized at a
RIASP General Membership meeting during the 2010-2011 school year.
