Project Description: The community of Las Cerdas is remote and does not have access to electricity. The 90 students and seven teachers in particular suffered from this lack of electrical power, as they were unable to study or make lesson plans in the evenings. The solar panels have improved the educational conditions of the children in the community. An inauguration event with USAID/Bolivia and ACDI/VOCA representatives was held in Las Cerdas with USAID/Bolivia on May 22, 2007. One hundred USAID/Bolivia-branded notebooks and 2 large maps of Bolivia were also handed out to the children during this inauguration.
