Kristine Belser, SPHR is a certified HR practitioner with 16 years of experience in providing HR
consultative support to businesses. She is a graduate of Rosemont College with a BS degree in
Business Management and is completing her MBA at LaSalle University. She holds a senior
professional human resources (SPHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification
Institute (HRCI) and is an active member of the Society for Human Resources Management
(SHRM). Kristine’s roles in HR include establishment and oversight of HR operations. Her focus
is in healthcare and she currently works as the HR Director for Penn Cardiac Care @ Mercer
Bucks in Yardley, PA. Kristine has managed her own HR consulting business, providing support
to small business and local municipalities and has previous experience in manufacturing and
R&D. Kristine currently serves as the V.P./Dir. of Public Relations, Communications and
Technology on the board of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Society for Human Resources
Management (SEPA SHRM). She is also an active member of the Middletown Township Parks &
Recreation Board in Bucks County, PA, where she and her family currently reside.

Ned Clopton, SPHR, has been a Chapter member since 2000 and currently serves on our Board
as V.P./Treasurer. He is a graduate of Gwynedd-Mercy College in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Business Administration. After attending Villanova University’s SHRM
Learning System course, he received his Professional in Human Resources certification in 2000
and his Senior Professional certification in 2006. Ned has ten years of direct experience as a
human resources practitioner in various industries; he began his human resources career in 2000
at Rumsey Electric Company, an electrical supply distributor, as their Director of Human
Resources. In 2003 he joined Innovative Benefit Planning, LLC, a benefits consulting firm, as
their Director of Operations with responsibility for human resources. In 2006 he joined TAH
Industries, Inc, a Nordson Company, as their Director of Human Resources. In 2008 he rejoined
Rumsey Electric Company and is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of human resources.
He is also a member of the strategic management team, which sets policies, develops plans for
corporate initiatives and is responsible for organizational development and strategic direction.
Ned serves as the V.P./Treasurer on the board of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Society for
Human Resources Management (SEPA SHRM).

Peggy Derr, PHR, currently serves as V.P./Director of Workforce Readiness for the local
Southeastern PA Society for Human Resources Management (SEPA SHRM) chapter. She is
currently the Training Manager for Affinity Insurance Services in Hatboro, PA. Peggy is an
experienced HR professional with over 15 years experience in most major disciplines of human
resources including recruitment, employee relations, and training. In addition to her Professional
in Human Resources (PHR) certification, she holds several training certifications with DDI,
ZengerMiller and AchieveGlobal. Since most of Peggy’s human resources experience is from the
property and casualty insurance industry, she demonstrated her commitment and knowledge of
her client’s business by studying for numerous industry designations including the Chartered
Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI), Associate in
Automated Management (AAM), and Associate in Insurance Services (AIS). Peggy is a former
faculty member of the Insurance Society of Philadelphia, and a former grader for the Insurance
Institutes of America.

Kathryn Flannery, PHR currently serves as V.P./Director of Programming for the Southeastern
PA Society for Human Resources Management (SEPA SHRM) chapter.



Lisa Fugelo, PHR has been working in the HR field for over 15 years. She is a graduate of
Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science (now Philadelphia University) with a BS in Business
Management, and a Certificate in Human Resource Management. Lisa received her Professional
Human Resources (PHR) certification in 2001 from the Human Resources Certification Institute
(HRCI). Currently, Lisa is working at Orbit/FR Inc., in Horsham, PA as a Human Resource
Manager. She is responsible for all functions of human resources and payroll. Lisa serves as
VP/Secretary on the board of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Society for Human Resources
Management (SEPA SHRM).

Richard Handschumacher, SPHR is a certified senior HR professional and graduate of Ursinus
College with 30 years Human Resource upper management experience in the acute healthcare
industry, primarily in the Delaware Valley region. While his HR management experience has
primarily been that of generalist, he has enjoyed many opportunities focused in the O/D and
training arena and still enjoys an occasional consulting engagement. He’s had the past privilege
of being a presenter at an American Compensation Association national conference as well as
presenting HR related topics for community and civic groups. For the past 3 ½ years his current
role has been with Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey as Manager of Employee
& Labor Relations. He currently serves as V.P for Certification on the Board of Directors for the
Southeastern Pennsylvania Society for Human Resources Management (SEPA SHRM), and has
held other positions on the Board during the past 9 years. Additionally, he serves as instructor for
the SHRM Certification course taught through Villanova University.

Vanessa Hargrove, currently serves as V.P./Director Foundation for the local Southeastern PA
Society for Human Resources Management (SEPA SHRM) chapter and is the HR Manager for
Fox Run Craftsmen, a small kitchen housewares company located in Warminster, Pennsylvania.
In 2002, Fox Run Craftsmen employed her as the Office Manager, a role which quickly developed
into to an HR position. Vanessa’s previous HR experience gives her more than 10 years
experience in an HR environment. Her responsibilities include all aspects of human resources
including payroll, 401(k), benefits, training and safety. Currently, Vanessa is pursuing her BS at
DeVry University and has completed the SHRM Learning Program through Villanova
University.

Brian Jacobs, PHR Brian serves as V.P. at Large for the SEPA SHRM Chapter. He is a certified
HR professional (PHR) working as an HR Generalist for the Please Touch Museum for nearly two
years. The museum is a fabulous place to work! Seeing so many young faces having fun doesn't
get old and continues to be refreshing. Brian previously worked for the Archdiocese of
Philadelphia as an HR Manager and Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing as a Benefits Manager. While
working with the Archdiocese, he earned his PHR through the Villanova HR Certification
Program. Over the years, Brian has donated a great deal of time to the American Cancer Society
and participated in their signature event, the Relay For Life. Brian and his wife, Susan live in
Glenside with their two-year-old son, Basil (rhymes with dazzle). Brian also does voice-over
work and sporadically plays guitar with a couple of local bands.

Debbi Lasky, CEBS, PHR, currently serves as President for the Southeastern PA Society for
Human Resources Management (SEPA SHRM). She has served on the SEPA SHRM Board of
Directors since 2003. Deb is currently “in-transition” and looking for her next Human Resources
opportunity. She has worked in the Benefits/Human Resources field for the last 20 years. Deb
received her Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation in 1993 and was awarded
Fellowship status in ISCEBS. She was also a co-founder and first President of the Central New
Jersey Chapter of ISCEBS. Deb received her PHR certification in 1995 after completing Villanova
University’s SHRM Learning System course. Deb holds a BA degree in Psychology from Hofstra
University. She also maintains community involvement as the President of the Greater Trenton
Business and Professional Women, Inc. Deb resides in Hamilton Township, New Jersey with her
husband, Rob, and pug Smoochie. In her spare time (if there is such a thing!) she enjoys Karaoke-
ing locally and is considering getting involved again in local community theater with her
husband.

Brian D. Pedrow, Esquire, is a partner in the Philadelphia offices of Ballard Spahr, LLP, where he
practices in the Labor & Employment Group. Brian joined Ballard Spahr in 1988 after he
graduated, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. Brian's
practice is management-focused, representing private and public employers in all facets of
human resources law, including employment litigation, harassment and discrimination matters,
labor negotiations, labor board proceedings and arbitrations, policy development and workforce
training, as well as advice and counseling on a wide variety of human resources matters. Brian
also has developed an ERISA practice counseling employee benefit plans, sponsors and
fiduciaries on administration claims and litigation arising out of benefits transactions. Brian has
served as labor counsel to Edward G. Rendell, both as Mayor of the City of Philadelphia and as
Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and as counsel to Mayor John Street. He also
serves as counsel to SEPTA in its labor negotiations and employment matters and to the
Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority. Brian also serves as counsel to a number of Fortune
500 companies based in the Greater Philadelphia region, and he advises boards of the
Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities. He is listed in Chambers USA: America’s
Leading Lawyers for Business, a directory built primarily on client interviews, as a leader in the
field of labor and employment law. Brian also was selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in
America and Philadelphia Magazine’s Super Lawyers.               Currently, Brian serves as the
V.P./Legislative Affairs on the board of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Society for Human
Resources Management (SEPA SHRM). Brian and his wife, both natives of Lancaster County,
PA, now reside in Chester County, PA, with their two sons.

Roslyn H. Schaffer, SPHR, currently serves as the President Elect and the V.P./Director of
Legislative Affairs for the local Southeastern PA Society for Human Resources Management
(SEPA SHRM) chapter. She graduated with a B.S. from Cornell University and holds an M.S.W.
from the University of Pennsylvania as well as an M.B.A. from Drexel University. In 1998, she
was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the honor society serving business programs. After
attending Villanova University's SHRM Learning System course, she received her PHR
certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute in 2001 and her SPHR in 2002. Roz
is the Director of Human Resources for The Renfrew Center, a leader in the field of eating
disorder treatment with facilities in seven states. There, she is responsible for the oversight of all
aspects of human resources and serves as a member of the Senior Executive Team which
determines the overall strategic plan for the organization, sets policies and develops plans for
implementation of corporate initiatives. Active in the community, Roz has been working with the
Susan G. Komen Philadelphia Affiliate since its founding in 1991 where she successfully recruited
Ford Motor Company as a national sponsor, currently chairs the Children’s Tent for the annual
Race for the Cure and has served on the board of the Abington Education Foundation.



Sharon Sizgorich, SPHR, currently serves as the V.P./Director of Diversity for the Southeastern
PA Society for Human Resources Management and was on the SEPA Diversity Task Force for
two years. She is a graduate of St. Francis University with a MA in Human Resource
Management and is certified as an SPHR by HRCI, after completion of the Villanova HR
Certification Program. While completing her masters, Sharon gained experience in benefits,
benchmarking, safety, employment & payroll at the Hoss’s Steak & Sea House Corporate Office
in Duncansville PA. Sharon is currently employed at Unisys Corporation in Blue Bell as an HR
Consultant. At Unisys, she is developing her global HR experience through the roles she’s held in
the Recruiting and Rewards (Comp/Benefits) departments. Sharon lives in Bucks County, is 4
year dragon boat team captain (fundraising for Fox Chase Cancer Center), and serves as
volunteer/past president in Suburban Cyclists Unlimited, a local cycling club.

Christine Tierney, RN, MSN, SPHR, CHCR is a certified senior HR professional with over 20
years experience in the healthcare industry, the last 16 years of which has been in Human
Resource Management. Christine obtained her "Senior Professional in Human Resources" (SPHR)
Certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) in 2000 and received her
Certified Healthcare Recruiter (CHCR) credential from the National Association of Healthcare
Recruiters (NAHCR) in July 2008. Christine started her career in healthcare as a RN working in
pediatrics and pediatric ICU. She became a Nurse Recruiter in 1992 and then a HR generalist in
1994. Her HR roles included those ranging from Nurse Recruiter to that of Recruitment
Manager, and is currently the Director – Employment & Compensation at Abington Memorial
Hospital. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Holy Family University and a Master’s
degree in Nursing Administration from Villanova University. Christine is the Immediate Past
President of the Board of Directors for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Society for Human
Resources Management (SEPA SHRM). She has been actively involved on the Board since 2003
after serving as the Volunteer Co-Coordinator for the SHRM 2002 annual conference that was
held in Philadelphia. She is also a member of the Nursing Spectrum Advisory Board.

Larry T. Warner serves as the Vice President of Membership for SEPA SHRM and is the Vice
President Finance & Versatility for Human Resource Trouble Shooters (HRTS). Larry originally
managed the Temporary Division of HRTS and assists with the administration of the Villanova
University HR Professional Management Course. Larry, who has his commercial pilot's license,
is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from the Philadelphia Police Force, where he served in
the Crime Lab and the Camera Control and Studio unit. After retirement, he was a private
investigator for an insurance company and a large private investigation firm. Larry also is former
President and serves on the Board of the Delaware Valley Wood Carvers Association. He serves
on the Republican Executive Committee in N.E. Philadelphia. A Colorado-born cowboy, Larry
grew up "green-breaking" wild horses and milking cows at 4:00 a.m. on his Dad's Dairy Farm and
the Buffalo Ranch where is brother was foreman.

Joanne Zeas, MBA, SPHR is a certified HR practitioner with over 10 years experience in
Employee Relations and Human Resources Management Joanne’s experience centers on human
resources practices within the education industry. Human Resources Director at Temple
University, responsible for recruiting and human resource services for Temple’s athletics,
development, student affairs, and administrative departments. Joanne received her MBA degree
in 2000, with a concentration in Human Resource Management. She was awarded SPHR
certification in December, 2002, and is currently certified through December, 2011. Currently,
Joanne serves as the V.P./Director of Education and Student Liaison on the board of the
Southeastern Pennsylvania Society for Human Resources Management (SEPA SHRM). She also
serves as an adjunct faculty member at Gwynedd-Mercy College, and is working toward
attainment of an EdD degree in Educational Administration.
