Some people thought there were a lot of changes last year, but Sincerely,
this year could feel even more different. Although most of the
faces will look familiar, there were some significant changes
made to how we will do business. The most notable was the Dr. Jon Tuin
change in entrances to school. It will be important that all Larkin High School Principal
students enter the building through doors #1 and #4 in the
front of the building before school. That means that all other
entrances will be locked. Once school starts, then door #4 will Important Dates to Remember: Please
become the way to enter the building. (That is the entrance
near the dean’s office.) mark your calendars!
Another big change made was the elimination of the “Senior September
Lunchroom”. We have decided to use that space for students
who need more focus. Therefore, it will be referred to as the 6 Labor Day / No Classes
“focus room”. Students will be expected to follow some basic

lunch for a three week period. Students who perform to
expectations will be removed from the focus room and join the October
rest of the students in the lunch room.

These are just a few of the many changes. (Please check our
website for a complete list of expectations for this year.) The 15 Larkin’s Homecoming Assembly, Parade and
emphasis will be on doing the important work that needs to be Football game

surveys and face to face conversation. There were some
students who met this summer with Detective Hood, called the
LIDIR Group. They offered their ideas for Larkin and
developed plans for accomplishing some significant goals. It is
important to remember that the changes made this year were
the result of a lot of work on the part of many. Teachers,
